ITINERARY
Day 1 - INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT FROM THE USA TO SYDNEY
AUSTRALIA
Depart the USA and fly to Sydney. Note: a
day is lost due to crossing the International Dateline (don’t
worry, you gain a day on the way home).
Day 2
- INTERANTIONAL ARRIVAL INTO SYDNEY,
AUSTRALIA
International arrival at Sydney airport and
transfer to your hotel. Your hotel is located right in the
heart of Sydney's most exciting playground, Darling
Harbour. Sydney free at leisure to explore the Darling
Harbour area which is a modern collection of Shopping Malls,
Parkland, Restaurants and Harbour Front activities. Monorail
connection to the City Center also a must. Or walk to Circular
Quay and catch a ferry to our wonderful harbour-side Taronga
Park Zoo, or to the lovely tree-lined beach suburb of
Manly. If visiting on a weekend then go to the Rocks
Market and shop for local Arts, Crafts & unique Australian
Souvenirs.
Day 3 - SYDNEY

Days
4 & 5 - GREAT BARRIER REEF – HERON ISLAND
(2 NIGHTS)
Morning flight from Sydney to Gladstone and
ferry transfer to Heron Island for a two night stay. Heron
Island is a true coral cay right on the Great Barrier Reef.
Being right on the reef gives Heron an advantage over the
other Island Resorts, as most are a day trip from the reef.
Heron is ribboned with sugar white sands, crystal clear waters
and acres of brilliant coral. Its where stress is
replaced with a sense of soft adventure. Heron is a Marine
National Park and all flora and fauna is protected. The island
is a true nature lover's paradise and because of this the
island does not allow day-trippers. All meals are
provided whilst on Heron. Meals at Heron are
internationally recognized as being 5 star. Optional
Upgrades:
* Transfer from the mainland to Heron
Island is by high-speed launch (approx. 2 hours) or you can
upgrade to helicopter which provides and uninterrupted view of
the Reef (approx. 20mins).

Accommodation is in a Reef Suite or you can upgrade to a
Heron Suite to get Ocean Views.
Day 6 - BRISBANE
Today ferry transfer from Heron
Island to Gladstone, shuttle to Gladstone Airport and fly
direct to Brisbane. After hotel check-in the rest of
your day in Brisbane is at your leisure. Brisbane is a
vibrant city with many activities and sights to enjoy all
within walking distance from your hotel. Enjoy the shops
and festivities at Southbank Parklands (World Expo 1988 was
held here) and see Kodak Beach a large man-made inland
beach/pool surrounded by real beach sand, ferns and palm
trees. Also experience a living rainforest complete with
wildlife in the Southbank Wildlife Sanctuary. Wander the
board-walks that follow the river through the city, walk past
Kangaroo Point cliffs (watch people rock climb). Ride on
a ferry “River Cat” and tour the city from the river (day or
night). Cross the river to Brisbane Mall and shop till you
drop, or enjoy a coffee in a sidewalk café and watch the world
go by.
Day 7 - CROCODILE HUNTER’S WILDLIFE PARK & ZOO DAY
TOUR
A day excursion to the home of the famous Crocodile
Hunter (Steve Irwin) at the Australia Zoo. The Wildlife Park
is located 2 hours north of Brisbane. The "Call of the
Wild" experience leads you to "Steve's" home and over 550
animals that you would only expect to see in the wilds
of Australia. Experience a truly remarkable day as you
watch a demonstration featuring wild crocodiles. Meet Amelia,
the Wedged-Tailed Eagle and other birds of prey. Watch the
small clawed otters frolic and "Harriet" the world's oldest
giant Galapagos land tortoise, as they feed. Encounter cuddly
Koalas close up and join in the feeding of the kangaroos and
wallabies. This is a day to experience the pleasures of the
wild and watch a very experienced, professional handler get
close to extremely dangerous creatures. Return to Brisbane,
this evening is free.
Optional Upgrade:
* This day tour
is by train and shuttle bus between Brisbane and the
Zoo. Upgrade to a hire car (Rent-A-Car) to make it
a Self-Drive Adventure. We'll provide maps to help you.
Note: Aussies drive on the left hand side of the road, not the
right. A valid American Drivers License is
required.
Day 8 - RAINFOREST RETREAT–LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK (1
NIGHT)
Transfer to O'Reilly's Retreat for one night at this
lovely Rainforest Mountain hideaway. A visit to the
famous O'Reilly's plateau takes you through the beautiful
Tamborine Mountain. The mountain views are quite
spectacular and you will enjoy a relaxing rainforest drive on
the way to O'Reilly's 80 year old hideaway. At O'Reilly's you
will be able to view the rainforest canopy on Australia's
longest treetop walk. Walk through the rainforests at
your leisure, there are many walks (long and short) all of
which start at your door step. Enjoy the birds and
wildlife in their natural habitat. Ponder the beauty of
life as you sit on a rock amongst the ferns and greenery and
admire waterfalls, creeks and other pleasures of
nature.
Day 9 - INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT DEPARTING TO
THE USA.
Today transfer from O'Reillys to Brisbane Airport.
Transfer arrives in Brisbane at 6pm (earlier transfers are
available however fees apply). Prepare for your International departure
to the USA. Note: You arrive in the USA
on the same day you depart from Australia (you cross the
international date line and gain a day).
