18 Days/16 Nights - Sydney, The Great Ocean Road, The Great Barrier Reef, Rainforest Retreat & Brisbane

Begin your trip in Sydney, Australia's oldest city and the economic powerhouse of the nation and the country's capital in everything but name. It's blessed with sun-drenched natural attractions, dizzy skyscrapers, delicious and daring restaurants, superb shopping and friendly folk. Choose from the many optional tours that are available.

Then off to Melbourne, which is set around the shores of Port Phillip Bay. The city itself, laid out in a large rectangle and boasting a lively and cosmopolitan pulse, sits on the northern banks of the Yarra River, about five kilometers from the bay. From cutting-edge architecture and blockbuster musicals to art exhibitions and popular festivals, Melbourne is a city where cultural pursuits are woven into the fabric of everyday life. Regional Victoria also boasts a flourishing arts scene, with impressive galleries, museums, and heritage buildings.

Drive down the Victorian coastline to Adelaide on the Great Ocean Road. The rock formations and the coastline that you will experience are inspirational and breathtaking. Return your car to Adelaide after exploring the region.

The colourful, sophisticated capital of the tropical north, Cairns city is alive with life and charm. Here, warm northern hospitality and enthusiasm are the order of the day. There are so many unique attractions and activities to see when you visit ...cruise to the reef or islands, take a 4WD safari to the outback, trek into the rainforest or see it from the rainforest cableway above its green canopy on your way to or from Kuranda. Listed by the World Heritage Society and acclaimed as amongst the world's most wonderful assets are the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforests. These year round natural attractions are truly memorable and inspiring.

The Rainforest Retreat is located in World Heritage Lamington National Park, 2 hours by road south of Brisbane and 1 1/2 hours by road west of the Gold Coast. Lamington National Park is home to a vast array of unique flora and fauna. Pademelons, gliders and possums, frogs and the amazing array of birdlife makes the retreat a nature lover's paradise. This lush tropical rainforest retreat is 930 meters (3,000 feet) above sea level, enjoys cool mountain air (for cooler days and nights in summer), and has spectacular views, which go forever.

Last stop is Brisbane, a city that was once described a big country town has now emerged as one of the country's most progressive centers. It has several interesting districts, a good street cafe scene, a great riverside park, a busy cultural calendar and a thriving nightlife. Known locally as Bris Vegas, the city is renowned for its sun and the brash, glitzy hordes that follow it, but it's also a thriving arts capital, with dozens of theatres, cinemas, concert halls, galleries and museums. A climate this good and culture too? It must be paradise.
