Insiders Tip: Taronga Zoo in Circular Quay

What makes Taronga something special is its location. It is situated on elevated land along the waterfront, in one of the most beautiful vantage points on Sydney Harbour overlooking Sydney Cove, the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. Taronga Zoo is approximately 12 minutes by ferry from Circular Quay and the CBD. (Ferries depart Circular Quay, every quarter past and quarter to the hour).

As you zigzag your way along the paths among the animal enclosures, you are able to enjoy magnificent harbour views. The Taronga Zoo has its own jetty and you are able step off the boat and walk directly into the zoo. It is always best to start your tour of the Zoo from the top entrance. That way you'll be walking downhill facing the harbour. You'll then be continually surprised as you turn a corner and catch a different vista of the horizon. Then, when you reach the bottom you can catch the Zoo Sky Safari chair lift to take you to the top again and begin your downhill trek along a different path.

Sky Safari cable car operates between the Zoo wharf and the Top Entrance from 9.30am to 5.00pm daily. Taronga Zoo is open every day of the year from 9am to 5pm (including Christmas Day).

Achieve exhilaration and personal satisfaction as you climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. For approximately two hours you, along with 11 other eager climbers and a climb guide, weave through catwalks, climb up ladders and then arrive at the most spectacular point of all - the upper arch climb. The steady incline to the upper arch leaves you free to focus your attention on your Sydney experience, with opportunities for 360 degree views of Sydney, including east to the ocean, west to the mountains and the harbour city surrounds. It is at this point that you not only have a bird's eye view of the beautiful Sydney Harbour and the city, but have the exhilaration of the truly rewarding experience of reaching the top to the Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia. Plyon Museum, Sydney, AustraliaSee the fantastic views of the city, the harbour and the world famous icon - the Sydney Harbour Bridge! This is a wonderful alternative if you do not wish to climb the bridge.

Access is via the pedestrian pathway on the Eastern side of the Bridge from the city side (use the Bridge Stairs in Cumberland Street, The Rocks). There are 200 stairs to the Lookout, but on the way up there are 3 levels of exhibits where you will discover the history and construction of the Bridge, the men who built it, and the vision of JJC Bradfield, chief engineer

At the end of (or even before) your visit to Museum, enjoy the scenery and walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The walk to the North side of Sydney will take approximately 15-20 minutes from the Pylon.

Next we stop at Echo Point and see the famous Three Sisters rock formation. Travel through Katoomba, heart of the resort region within the Blue Mountains National Park and discover the remarkable beauty of Blue Mountains National Park, enjoy an easy walk or Visit Echo Point Lookout, see the Three Sisters and hear the ancient Aboriginal legends of this impressive rock formation, hear traditional Aboriginal Dreamtime tales interpreting the creation of local landmarks. Days 5-9 - 4 Nights Accommodation in Port Douglas

Your vacation luxury boutique accommodation is located within walking distance of the three icons of Port Douglas - 200 metres from 4-Mile Beach, 100 metres from Macrossan Street and 400 metres to the Marina Village, where boats depart daily to Australia's Outer Great Barrier Reef. The apartments are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fans, cable TV, CD & DVD players, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, laundry facilities and security basement car parking. There is a Lagoon style pool, an outdoor BBQ/ entertaining area, and an 8 person spa amongst a luscious tropical garden. Travel to the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation or maybe to the Great Barrier Reef. Port Douglas offers a winning combination of a cosmopolitan township and friendly village. Day 6 - Day Tour - Great Barrier Reef Snorkeling and Diving Cruise
Great Barrier Reef Cruise, Port Douglas, AustraliaToday you will cruise out to the crystal clear waters, beautiful corals and incredible fish life found at the Agincourt Ribbon Reefs located on the very outer edge of the Great Barrier Reef, which is the best possible for boat diving and snorkeling.

Your cruise will include courtesy transfers from the Port Douglas area, Morning and Afternoon tea, cake and fruit platter, Delicious tropical buffet lunch with prawns (very large shrimp), reef interpretation talk, guided snorkel tour with marine naturalist, all snorkel equipment and tuition to include prescription masks, lycra suits and flotation devices, spacious air conditioned bar and saloon area, fresh water showers, 3 spectacular reef sites, professional photographer on board.

No problems if you wish to dive. This can be coordinated and will include DRIFT and WALL DIVES, isolated pinnacles surrounded by Pelagic fish, and coral gardens with their endless variety of colorful wrasses, cods, parrot fish, angel fish, clams and anemones, that make a healthy living reef so beautiful. All our sites have been selected for both the shallower coral gardens favored by snorkellers, and the adjacent deeper walls and drop-offs preferred by scuba divers.

In a secluded glade your evening begins greeted with sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres you are introduced to a culture that has been in existence for over forty thousand years.

The evening unfolds as it would have many generations before with an ancient tale from the Aboriginal Dreamtime. After dessert, enjoy some Daintree tea and local coffee, explore the river surrounds or simply sit back & let the sounds of the rainforest tell its own story.

Our first stop in Byron Bay is the Cape Byron Lighthouse. Standing on a bald rocky headland with a precipitous cliff on the east side, and a sheer drop of approximately 100 metres, Enjoy a day at Byron Bay, Tropical Fruit World and some other great local spots!

Cape Byron Lighthouse is the most easterly light in Australia, and one of the most powerful. Here you have the opportunity to stand on the edge of Australia! Not only is Byron Bay famous for being the most easterly mainland point but also as the "alternate lifestyle" capital of Australia so meet the locals and enjoy the atmosphere. There will be opportunities for a swim at Byron Bay Beach so be sure to be prepared.

For a bit of retail therapy, there is a great range of original crafts, clothing and gift ideas. Have some lunch (own expense) in one of the local cafes, the beachfront pub or have take away by the beach.

Then spend time at a 5th generation family farm at Tropical Fruit World. It boasts some of Australia's and the world's most exotic fruits and the best fruit parfaits around! Be sure to stop off and purchase some exotic and local fruits along with some great natural products. Next have a brief stop at Superbee Honeyworld where you can sample from up to 15 local varieties of honey. Don't worry if honey doesn't suit you then just head next door to the Chocolate Expo where you can find over 140 hand made varieties.

Note: During the winter months you may even see whales making their annual migration north.

CrabTour, Gold Coast, AustraliaFrom the moment you step on board our specially designed river cruiser you can take part in a range of activities such as feeding pelicans, yabbie pumping, fishing and trapping for crabs.

The highlight of the day for most of our guests is the thrill of pulling up the crab pot with its lively catch of the most sought after seafood delicacies - the Queensland mud crab, and other crabs in season.
If you prefer, you can simply sitting back and enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of the tranquil and safe Terranora inlet, on the Tweed River. Tour includes a stop at the famous Terranora rock oyster leases and the opportunity to purchase oysters fresh from the farm.

Don't forget to bring shorts and towel (for yabbie pumping), your camera, and binoculars if you're a keen bird watcher!

This excursion provides not only a visit to Australia Zoo, which is the home of the famous "Crocodile Hunter", Steve Irwin, but also a scenic flight experience along the Gold Coast Beaches and North to the Sunshine Coast area. Hotel pick up and return is included as well as the Entry Pass to the Australia Zoo.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary,Gold Coast, AustraliaA visit to the Sanctuary is a great opportunity for you to view native Australian animals in natural settings.

Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is home to one of the world's largest collections of Australian Animals featuring over 1500 individual animals from over 200 species! Enjoy having a photo taken with a koala, feed a kangaroo, Aboriginal Dancers and a variety of shows.

A Translink bus runs from the Gold Coast Convention Center (Adjacent to Jupiter's Casino) to the sanctuary about every 30 minutes. Fare is about $3.40 AUD and Admission to the Sanctuary Adult 32.00 AUD and Children $21.00AUD.

Surfing Lesson, Gold Coast, AustraliaWhat better place to try the thrill of surfing but at one of World’s most beautiful beaches, Burleigh Heads? The fully qualified staffs 'hands on' approach and coaching methods make this so unique that you'll be up and riding a wave in no time!

For your knowledge and safety, you will start with a brief orientation on the beach where you'll be taught to recognize water conditions including rips and current then onto the fun stuff with practicing some surfing techniques. Then out into the ocean, you'll have your experienced coach with you in the water at all times. This will boost your confidence and you'll be surfing before you know it.

Includes: 2 Hour lesson, surfboard

Luggage is limited to 2 suitcases per person. Excess luggage, surfboards & bicycles will be carried at a rate of $10.00 AUD per item. All luggage must be clearly labelled by the passenger, including name and full address. Valuable items (e.g. jewellery, expensive equipment, cash etc) should be carried by the passenger on their person. Passengers are strongly advised to take out appropriate travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.
