Great White Shark [Dive01]

9 Days/7 Nights Port Lincoln (2 nights), Liveaboard Dive Boat (3 nights), Sydney (2 nights)

Fly from the US directly to the tiny town of Port Lincoln on the Eyre Pennisula. Rest overnight and then in the morning board your liveaboard Great White Shark Dive Boat. 4 days of diving with one of the most feared sharks in the world will test the nerve of any diver.

Upon return to Port Lincoln, you will stay overnight and in the morning fly to Sydney. Explore this world city offering the beauty of the Harbour, the Opera House and the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge. Enjoy the excellent restaurants and Nightlife that only Sydney can offer.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 - US Domestic Flight

Your Home City flight to Los Angeles will be selected to suit the International Departure Flight to Australia

Please allow 3 hours between arrival of your US domestic flight and departure of your International flight.

Day 1 - International Flight Los Angeles to Melbourne

After departing from Los Angeles, you will be provided with an evening meal, you can relax, have a drink, watch a movie and rest. You will be given Breakfast before landing in Melbourne, Australia (you lose one day crossing the International Date Line but don't worry you'll catch it up again on your return flight to the USA).

The Qantas Boeing 747-400 is equipped with the latest entertainment features of any Airline. The overnight flight to Australia can be a good opportunity for sleeping or to watch the latest movies after your evening meal.

Day 2 - Domestic Flight Melbourne to Adelaide

Travel within Australia by domestic air from Melbourne to Adelaide.

Day 2 (cont) - Domestic Flight to Port Lincoln

Travel within Australia by light aircraft flight from Adelaide to Port Lincoln, Eyre Pennisula.

Days 2-3 - Overnight Accommodation in Port Lincoln

Travel to your accommodation in Port Lincoln, South Australia, where you will be staying whilst on vacation for 1 night.

Your vacation accommodation is located in Port Lincoln, a quaint seaside town of 14,000 and the "Seafood Capital of Australia." Overlooking Boston Bay, Port Lincoln provides an ideal base for travel and exploration of the coast and the hinterland of the Lower Eyre Peninsula. You find everything from galleries, quality art and craft outlets with local products which will add to your vacation experience.

Day 3 to 6 - Diving with Australian Great White Sharks

Your heart is hammering and your lungs have a mind of their own. You seem transfixed by that unblinking black eye that stares straight into your very soul. This very moment will stay with you for ever I can assure you. This amazing experience can be yours if you accompany Rolf Czabayski aboard the MV Calypso Star.


Your cage diving adventure begins at Port Lincoln Airport where the skipper, Rolf Czabayski will meet you. A short drive will deliver you to the Calypso Star at the Port Lincoln marina. This vessel is 17m of pure luxury with accommodation for eight plus two crew. Prior to arrival at the shark diving destination a short detour will be made to allow you to swim with, film and photograph our Australian Sea Lions (weather permitting).
Upon reaching the shark hunting destination the crew commence chumming the water with fish blood and offal. The Great White, like all sharks will smell this from literally miles away and quickly track it to its source. This is where the action begins as they start feeding on the chum and offal in the water. Nothing is spared as these massive creatures test their teeth on everything including the boat and dive cage.
Now it is time to enter the cage where you can meet your shark on a more personal level. The thrill of your first encounter with a great white shark in its natural environment will last a lifetime and the power and grace of this magnificent creature will leave you awed as you view, photograph and video its every move. A complimentary video of both above and underwater tour highlights will be presented free of charge at the completion of your trip. In addition, the crew will offer every assistance to ensure that all guests are able to take advantage of every photo and video opportunity using their own cameras where possible.

To ensure your tour is as comfortable and convenient as possible you will be supplied with a range of dive equipment and accessories. All underwater air requirements are supplied via an on board compressor so there is no requirement for dive tanks. For your own convenience we urge you to bring your own dive gear.Weight belts are supplied free of charge. (Wet suits can be hired).

On Board Accommodation include set meals including a bottle of wine with your evening meal.

Days 6-7 - Overnight Accommodation in Port Lincoln

Day 7-9 - Overnight Accommodation in Sydney

Travel to your accommodation in the heart of Sydney, Australia, where you will be staying whilst on vacation for 2 nights.

Your vacation hotel is located within walking distance to Sydney's most exciting playground, Darling Harbour. Explore the Darling Harbour area, which is a modern collection of unique Australia Shopping Malls, Parkland, Restaurants and Harbour Front activities. Travel by Monorail to the City Center is also a must, or walk to Circular Quay. Or maybe travel by ferry to our wonderful harbour-side Taronga Park Zoo, or to the lovely tree-lined beach suburb of Manly. If plan your vacation in Sydney over a weekend, visit the Rocks Market and shop for local Arts, Crafts & unique Souvenirs of Australia.

Optional Day Tour 1

On your vacation climb the famous Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia.

Achieve exhilaration and personal satisfaction as you climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge. For approximately two hours you, along with 11 other eager climbers and a climb guide, weave through catwalks, climb up ladders and then arrive at the most spectacular point of all - the upper arch climb. The steady incline to the upper arch leaves you free to focus your attention on your Sydney experience, with opportunities for 360 degree views of Sydney, including east to the ocean, west to the mountains and the harbour city surrounds. It is at this point that you not only have a bird's eye view of the beautiful Sydney Harbour and the city, but have the exhilaration of the truly rewarding experience of reaching the top to the Harbour Bridge in Sydney, Australia. When you reach the top you will have a sense of achievement that you'll remember forever - you've conquered an Australian icon recognised the world over! No other Sydney tourist attraction can give you this feeling of standing at the top of the world, with the Harbour spread before you. All climbers will be issued a complimentary photograph of their climb group.

Sydney Explorer Bus Tour -Recommended but not included

The Sydney Explorer visits 26 stops, offering an amazing insight into the history and majesty of Australia`s most popular city.

From the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House to Darling Harbour and King`s Cross, with plenty in between. Our on board commentary details the attractions near each stop for you to explore at your leisure.The Sydney Explorer departs everyday from Circular Quay approximately every 18 minutes from early morning to late afternoon. You can hop on or hop off wherever you like all day long. If you want to stay on the bus, a full circuit will take about 100 minutes.

There`s no need to book, just jump onboard at any of the distinctive red stops and buy your ticket from the driver. ***Note: This is not a pre-organised day tour but is a recommendation.

Optional Day Tour 3

On your vacation take a sightseeing harbour dinner cruise in Sydney, Australia.

Cruise the harbour as the sunsets over Sydney, Australia. The cruise includes canapés on arrival, a two-course dinner of Australia's contemporary cuisine, sparkling and still wines, and spectacular views of the city. The cruise takes about 1.5. hours.

Day 9 - International Flight Sydney to Los Angeles

Depart Sydney from the International Airport and fly to Los Angeles. Note: You will be traveling back across the International Date line so you will gain a day. You actually arrive in the USA on the same day you leave Australia.

Day 9 (cont) - US Domestic Flight

The connection flight to your Home City from Los Angeles will be selected to suit the International Arrival flight from Australia.

Please allow 3 hours between arrival of International flight before departure of your US domestic flight.

Diving Specifications

One of the Ultimate diving experiences is a face to face encounter with the Australian Great White Shark. Safety, preparation and a complete understanding of the diving plan are paramount.

Your dive master will provide pre dive briefings whislt on the liveaboard Dive boat to ensure a clear understanding of all aspects of this dive. In the interim, please take the time to understand some of the technical specifications of this dive.

Air - All underwater air requirements are supplied via an on board compressor so there is no requirement for dive tanks.

Dive Gear - For your own convenience we urge you to bring your own dive gear.
Alternatively, wetsuits can be hired for and weight belts are supplied free of charge.
You will still need to bring your own fins, gloves etc..
