You will be given Breakfast before landing in Sydney, Australia. (You lose one day crossing the International Date Line but don't worry you catch it up again on your return flight to the USA)

Access is via the pedestrian pathway on the Eastern side of the Bridge from the city side (use the Bridge Stairs in Cumberland Street, The Rocks). There are 200 stairs to the Lookout, but on the way up there are 3 levels of exhibits where you will discover the history and construction of the Bridge, the men who built it, and the vision of JJC Bradfield, chief engineer

At the end of (or even before) your visit to Museum, enjoy the scenery and walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The walk to the North side of Sydney will take approximately 15-20 minutes from the Pylon.

You travel by rental car from Melbourne to Adelaide along the Great Ocean Road. The Twelve Apostles are eroded sandstone formations that soar from the swirling waters of the Southern Ocean and are a central feature of the spectacular Port Campbell National Park that extends from Princetown to Peterborough. You travel through Apollo Bay nestles into the picturesque green foothills of the Otway Ranges. On the way to discovering this "paradise by the sea", you'll experience some of the Great Ocean Road's best scenery and smaller vacation hamlets. Once you arrive in Mount Gambier you are halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide. Called the "Blue Lake City," Mount Gambier is South Australia's second largest city, set amidst a unique and ancient landscape of volcanic craters, lakes, caves, and mysterious underground aquifers. Please bring a valid American driver's license with you and be aware that the Australia drives on the left hand side of the road. Your 4 Star vacation accommodation is located in the heart of Melbourne, Australia. Its suites are equipped with kitchenettes, air conditioning, and ensuite bathrooms. Most are facing on to the hotel's private European style courtyard. The vacation accommodation is close to Chinatown. Or perhaps stroll to the Southern Cross Station and travel by tram throughout the city. For the less adventurous, Melbourne is the perfect launching pad for day tours to such places like Phillip Island and Penguins, or perhaps the Great Ocean Road.

City Tour, Melbourne, AustraliaThe Melbourne City Circle Tram travels a rectangular route along Flinders, Spring, LaTrobe and Spencer Streets right around the Melbourne city centre.

Not only is travel completely free on the City Circle Tram but you get a running commentary on the places of interest along its route. You can get off the tram at any of its stops, so you can visit particular attractions at close hand, and catch the next one.

Trams run in both directions every 12 minutes, seven days a week between 10am and 6pm (except Christmas Day and Good Friday), and during daylight-saving extended hours, 10am to 9pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne, AustraliaThe Queen Victoria Market is an historic Melbourne landmark and a Melbourne institution dating back to more than 120 years ago.

Queen Victoria Market hasn’t been just a market. At different times in the past it has been a cemetery, a livestock market and a place to sell fruit and veggies (vegetables) wholesale. It is said to be the southern hemisphere’s largest open-air market offering a variety of fresh farm produce and, on Sundays, a wider range of merchant items which turn the market into a modern Arabian Nights bazaar. This is the place to buy your souvenirs.

Aside from the variety of wares offered at the Queen Victoria Market, buskers and street entertainment are a market feature, particularly on Sundays when Queen St is closed and becomes a place of cafes, carnival rides and other activities. And there's always the sound of spruikers cajoling visitors into buying their goods, and you can haggle for the best prices you're able to get.

The Queen Victoria Market trading hours are 6am to 2pm on Tuesday and Thursday; 6am to 6pm (with the general merchandise section closing at 4pm) on Friday; 6am to 3pm on Saturday; and 9am to 4pm on Sunday. The market is closed on Monday and Wednesday, and on Good Friday, Anzac Day, Melbourne Cup Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. (Please double check times before you go.)
(Days 5-8) - Self Drive of the Great Ocean Road from Melbourne to Adelaide

DAY 1: GREAT OCEAN ROAD SELF DRIVE TOUR
Today collect your hire car and start your self drive tour of the Great Ocean Road. Pass through Geelong and maybe stop at Torquay for refreshments. Enjoy views of sweeping beaches, sleepy coastal resorts and spectacular cliffsides as you wind along the coastline road. Stop at Apollo Bay for your overnight accommodation with the afternoon at leisure.

Insider's Tip: Geelong & Great Ocean Road Information Centre - There are 12 Accreditied Visitor Information Centres along Great Ocean Road. The Geelong Centre (on the outskirts of town on Princess Highway) is a great place to stop for everything you need for the GOR region. Stop by to pick up maps, vistors' guides, magazines or tips from the knowledgeable locals. (All visitor information centres are open 7 days a week from 9am-5pm)

DAY 2: THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD.
Continue along the road to Otway National Park, an abundance of ferns and mosses dwarfed by giant gum trees. Continue towards Port Campbell National Park. View the famous Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard. Stop in Port Campbell for refreshments and continue to the remnants of London Bridge. Continue on to Portland and stay overnight in Mount Gambier (South Australia). View Mt Gambier's Blue Lake, famous for its vivid blue colour during summer months.

DAY 3: THE RIVERLAND
From Mt Gambier continue onto Tailem Bend and see Old Tailem Town a re-creation of a pioneer village with many old buildings. Continue to Murray Bridge and drive across the Might Murray River. You may like to spend the night here in the Riverland at (or near) Murray Bridge. This town is South Australia’s largest riverside town with a population of 13,500. It’s a popular place for fishing, waterskiing and outdoor riverside barbecues. Maybe take a lunchtime river cruise and explore the Murray on the MV Barrangul or PS Captain Proud, check at the local tourist office on South Terrace for times. Overnight.

DAY 4: ADELAIDE
Continue to Adelaide through Mt Barker and the Adelaide Hills. While in the Adelaide Hills you may like to see Hahndorf a quaint old German-style town that has shady main street housing a delightful assortment of art and craft shops. In Adelaide maybe do a city tour and revel in the beauty of Adelaide (the city of Churches). In the evenings, enjoy some of the terrific restaurants, Rundle Street or maybe a theatre show at the Festival Theatre. During the day maybe see Waterfall Gulley, Glenelg (seaside shops and amusements) or take a day tour to the Barossa or McLaren Vale, Australia’s premier wine producing regions.

Travel by coach or car to explore the unique scenery of Australia's Outback and its magnificent monolith - Uluru.

(Day 9) - Day Tour - Alice Springs to Ayers Rock / Uluru via Luxury Coach

Travel from Alice Springs, the heart of the Red Centre, via the MacDonnell Ranges to Uluru (Ayers Rock). The MacDonnell Ranges, consisting of sandstone peaks and gorges, are to the East and West of Alice Springs and are 400 miles long. Stop at the Australia Outback Camel Farm where you can ride a camel (own expense). Continue on to Ayers Rock Resort.

(Days 9-11) - Day Tours - Tour Pass to include Uluru, the Olgas and Cultural Center
Tour Pass, Ayers Rock, AustraliaOn your vacation explore the fascinating surroundings of Australia's Red Centre.

At the Sunset portion of this tour, you will depart for Kata Tjuta (Olgas) with a stop made to view the immense scale of this formation which dominates the western skyline of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. On arrival, take a guided walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge while following the natural creek which flows between two domes. Marvel at the sheer walls that flank you as you enter the gorge while you learn of the domes' formation and of the flora and fauna of the region. Late in the day, you will reboard the coach and travel to a vantage point to watch Uluru at sunset that reflect a spectacular array of sunburnt oranges, maroons and purples. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine and canapés as the sun sinks in the desert sky before returning to your Resort approximately 30 minutes after sunset.

For the Sunrise portion of this tour, rise early and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee as you the magnificent show of colour as the sun's first rays strike the mighty monolith Uluru (Ayers Rock). After the sun has risen you will be transferred to the base of the Uluru Climb. As you make the exhilarating climb, take in the magnificent desert plains. Once at the summit, enjoy unhindered 360-degree views of this vast desertscape. Visit the Cultural Centre and stop by Maruku Arts and Craft Cooperative, where you may see Aboriginal artists at work. Note: The climb may be closed without notice due to weather or cultural reasons. If you do not wish to climb, a walk is also available.

Don't forget to soak up the sun at Four Mile Beach or even take in a game of golf.

Situated on eight acres of land, the park recreates three very unique environments that allow you to see various and numerous species through meandering boardwalks. Check out the Wetlands where you can view wading birds as they forage for fish beneath the boardwalks, along with marsupials, fruitbats and other bird species. Come hungry and have the original "Breakfast with the Birds" (extra cost) which will tempt you with champagne, juices, tropical buffet and bottomless tea and coffee.
