Arriving in Melbourne you will explore the cosmopolitan city selecting from the optional tours offered. Next pickup your rental car and take three days to explore the Victorian coastline, the Great Ocean Road. Return your car to Adelaid for an overnight stay prior to flying to Sydney.

After departing from Los Angeles, you will be provided with an evening meal, you can relax, have a drink, watch a movie and rest. You will be given Breakfast before landing in Melbourne, Australia (you lose one day crossing the International Date Line but don't worry you'll catch it up again on your return flight to the USA).

The Queen Victoria Market is an historic Melbourne landmark and a Melbourne institution dating back to more than 120 years ago.
Queen Victoria Market hasn’t been just a market. At different times in the past it has been a cemetery, a livestock market and a place to sell fruit and veggies (vegetables) wholesale. It is said to be the southern hemisphere’s largest open-air market offering a variety of fresh farm produce and, on Sundays, a wider range of merchant items which turn the market into a modern Arabian Nights bazaar. This is the place to buy your souvenirs.
Aside from the variety of wares offered at the Queen Victoria Market, buskers and street entertainment are a market feature, particularly on Sundays when Queen St is closed and becomes a place of cafes, carnival rides and other activities. And there's always the sound of spruikers cajoling visitors into buying their goods, and you can haggle for the best prices you're able to get.
The Queen Victoria Market trading hours are 6am to 2pm on Tuesday and Thursday; 6am to 6pm (with the general merchandise section closing at 4pm) on Friday; 6am to 3pm on Saturday; and 9am to 4pm on Sunday. In the afternoon visit Warrook Farm, a working cattle property, and enjoy the opportunity to feed kangaroos. Then at Phillip Island visit the Koala Conservation Centre and observe cuddly koalas. You travel by rental car from Melbourne to Adelaide along the Great Ocean Road. The Twelve Apostles are eroded sandstone formations that soar from the swirling waters of the Southern Ocean and are a central feature of the spectacular Port Campbell National Park that extends from Princetown to Peterborough. You travel through Apollo Bay nestles into the picturesque green foothills of the Otway Ranges. On the way to discovering this "paradise by the sea", you'll experience some of the Great Ocean Road's best scenery and smaller vacation hamlets. Once you arrive in Mount Gambier you are halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide. Called the "Blue Lake City," Mount Gambier is South Australia's second largest city, set amidst a unique and ancient landscape of volcanic craters, lakes, caves, and mysterious underground aquifers. Please bring a valid American driver's license with you and be aware that the Australia drives on the left hand side of the road. Great Ocean Road (Victoria) through to Adelaide (South Australia): Self Drive Tour
DAY 1: GREAT OCEAN ROAD SELF DRIVE TOUR
Today collect your hire car and start your self drive tour of the Great Ocean Road. Pass through Geelong and maybe stop at Torquay for refreshments. Enjoy views of sweeping beaches, sleepy coastal resorts and spectacular cliffsides as you wind along the coastline road. Stop at Apollo Bay for your overnight accommodation with the afternoon at leisure.
Insider's Tip: Geelong & Great Ocean Road Information Centre - There are 12 Accreditied Visitor Information Centres along Great Ocean Road. The Geelong Centre (on the outskirts of town on Princess Highway) is a great place to stop for everything you need for the GOR region. Stop by to pick up maps, vistors' guides, magazines or tips from the knowledgeable locals. (All visitor information centres are open 7 days a week from 9am-5pm)
DAY 2: THE GREAT OCEAN ROAD.
Continue along the road to Otway National Park, an abundance of ferns and mosses dwarfed by giant gum trees. Continue towards Port Campbell National Park. View the famous Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard. Stop in Port Campbell for refreshments and continue to the remnants of London Bridge. Continue on to Portland and stay overnight in Mount Gambier (South Australia). View Mt Gambier's Blue Lake, famous for its vivid blue colour during summer months.
DAY 3: THE RIVERLAND
From Mt Gambier continue onto Tailem Bend and see Old Tailem Town a re-creation of a pioneer village with many old buildings. Continue to Murray Bridge and drive across the Might Murray River. You may like to spend the night here in the Riverland at (or near) Murray Bridge. This town is South Australia’s largest riverside town with a population of 13,500. It’s a popular place for fishing, waterskiing and outdoor riverside barbecues. Maybe take a lunchtime river cruise and explore the Murray on the MV Barrangul or PS Captain Proud, check at the local tourist office on South Terrace for times. Overnight.
DAY 4: ADELAIDE
Continue to Adelaide through Mt Barker and the Adelaide Hills. While in the Adelaide Hills you may like to see Hahndorf a quaint old German-style town that has shady main street housing a delightful assortment of art and craft shops. In Adelaide maybe do a city tour and revel in the beauty of Adelaide (the city of Churches). In the evenings, enjoy some of the terrific restaurants, Rundle Street or maybe a theatre show at the Festival Theatre. During the day maybe see Waterfall Gulley, Glenelg (seaside shops and amusements) or take a day tour to the Barossa or McLaren Vale, Australia’s premier wine producing regions.

Today you will enjoy a day to remember with a sail out to the protected Low Isles, an unspoiled coral cay in the Great Barrier Reef. You have 4.5 hours to explore the coral cay, white sandy beaches and coconut palms whilst marveling at the coral gardens and the Coral Sea that surround you.
Enjoy the relaxing sail to and from the island as you will be transferred by tender to the island itself which is situated on a large coral platform consisting of a small coral cay, a large mangrove island, mudflats, seagrass beds, and coral reefs. Surrounded by 55 acres of coral reef comprised of 150 species of hard corals and dominated by 15 species of soft corals it is an ideal place for snorkelling. Living in the blue lagoon are a large variety of reef fish including angelfish, damselfish, anemones, giant trevally, sweetlip, fusiliers and many green turtles are sighted daily. Be sure not to miss out on the Heritage Walk where you can learn about the islands history and environment and visit the lighthouse built in 1878.
