Itinerary Details
(Day 1) - International Flight, Los Angeles to Auckland

Shortly after departing Los Angeles you will be served dinner and you will be given breakfast before landing in Auckland.

Relax, watch some movies, and try to get some sleep!

(Day 2) - Domestic Flight, Auckland to Bay of Islands

Travel within New Zealand by domestic air from Auckland to Bay of Islands (North Island).

(Day 2) - Transfer, Kerikeri Airport to Kauri Cliffs

Upon arrival into Kerikeri meet with your driver who will transfer you to the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs.

(Days 2 to 5) - 3 Nights of Luxury Accommodation at the Lodge at Kauri Cliffs

The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs is located in the Bay of Islands, on the North Island of New Zealand.

This luxury lodge is one of the most awarded luxury boutique golf & spa resort hotels in New Zealand. Set on 6,000 acres near Matauri Bay, Northland, the main lodge, which overlooks the golf course, Pacific Ocean, Cape Brett and the offshore Cavalli Islands are part of the panorama which can be viewed from the verandas, living room, card room and the guest cottages. Gourmet a la carte dining is available in the main dining room or on the verandas. Kauri Cliffs is also home to a par 72 PGA championship golf course designed and built by David Harman. This awarded golf course has been home to The Kiwi Challenge PGA Golf Event.

Additional facilities include two Astroturf tennis courts, an infinity swimming pool with spa and a fully equipped fitness centre. Kauri Cliffs has three secluded swimming beaches, which are also available for picnics and barbeques.

Kauri Cliffs accommodation has 22 guest suites, and a Two Bedroom Owner’s Cottage. Every suite offers its own private porch, bedroom with sitting area and open fireplace, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom. The cottages are nestled in a native forest overlooking the golf course and the Pacific Ocean.

(Days 5 to 7) - 2 Nights Accommodation in Wellington

Travel to your accommodation in Wellington, New Zealand, where you will be staying whilst on vacation for 2 nights.

Your 5 Star luxury hotel is located adjacent to the harbour waterfront, within close walking distance to popular attractions and is at the centre of the capital’s political, commercial and corporate worlds, only a short walk from history, culture and shopping. Te Papa Museum of New Zealand, the Museum of Wellington City & Sea, Wellington’s iconic Cablecar, Westpac Trust Stadium and a host of art galleries are nearby.

(Day 6) - Free Day to Explore Wellington

Wellington, voted the ‘Coolest Little Capital in the World’ offers the visitor heaps of cool things to do that just happen to be free.

New Zealand’s capital city, Wellington, sits nestled in a natural amphitheatre around the harbour. It is easy to explore on foot and there are heaps of great things to see and do that don’t cost a cent.

Visit the dynamic and interactive National Museum of NZ – Te Papa on the waterfront. Get your city bearings and some of Wellington’s best views at the Mount Victoria Lookout. Ride the historic Wellington Cable Car to the Botanic Garden. Four Wellington restaurants have won NZ’s Best Restaurant in the last five years. It’s safe to say you’ll be eating very well while in Wellington! Hear the birdsong and spot a tuatara as you walk through ZEALANDIA: The Karori Sanctuary Experience. Get an inside peek into Wellywood at The Weta Cave in Miramar. Go stargazing and check out the amazing planetarium show at Carter Observatory. Seeking hidden treasures? Many of Wellington’s best night spots are tucked away for your finding, such as Motel, Library or Duke Carvell’s Swan Lane Emporium. Head to Cuba Street for a slice of Bohemia, boutique shopping and some of the best coffee in town.

Insider's Tip - Zealandia

Zealandia: The Karori Wildlife Sanctuary Experience is a protected natural area where the bio-diversity of a square mile of forest is being restored.




Zealandia is a world-first conservation attraction where a unique protected natural area is being patiently restored. Some of New Zealand’s rarest and most endangered wildlife has been released inside the sanctuary like the little spotted kiwi, tuatara, saddleback, stitchbird and kaka.




Stroll leisurely around natural bush, lakes and historical buildings at your own pace or book a guided tour during the day or night. You can walk across a unique historic dam, see a 19th century goldmine carved deep into the hillside, take a scenic ride on an electric boat or picnic on the lawns by the wetlands. All only 2.5 kilometres from Parliament Buildings.

The Visitor Centre is at the end of Waiapu Road, Karori (first left after the Karori tunnel).

Insiders Tip: Visit the Weta Workshop

Take a trip to the Weta Cave, a mini-museum, a shop and a theaterette that you can visit.



On the corner of the Weta premises in Miramar, Wellington. The museum contains props from films and projects such as Lord of the Rings! In the theaterette we show a 20 minute behind-the-scenes DVD about the work that goes on at Weta. Be sure to visit the shop, which offers everything from souvenirs and Weta merchandise to collectible sculptures.

Within minutes you have left the city behind and your 4WD adventure has begun! We traverse a local’s private land to access the sea, enjoying spectacular views and scenery along the way. Insider's Tip - Wellington Cable Car

The Wellington Cable Car is one of Wellington’s oldest & most popular tourist attractions.

The cars run from Lambton Quay in the heart of the central business district and within 5 minutes whisk you from under the corporate towers of The Terrace past Kelburn Park and Victoria University to the top entrance of the Wellington Botanic Gardens with its magnificent lookout over the City and harbour – Te Whanganui-a-Tara (The Great Harbour of Tara).

Other attractions immediately accessible from the top station are the award winning Cable Car museum situated in the old cable car winding room and the newly opened Carter Observatory. For those wishing to explore further, Kelburn village with its shops and Cafes is a short walk and an ideal stopping off point on your way to Zealandia. There are also easy downhill walks through the Botanic Gardens to Thorndon or back to Lambton Quay via the historic Bolton Street Cemetery and the Beehive.

A fully escorted tour of Wellington’s Cable Car and Museums is available. First stop the Museum of Wellington for the inside story on Wellington’s intruiging past. A short escorted walk along Grey Street then all aboard the Wellington Cable Car…to the top for the best views in Wellington. Learn more about these ‘Relentless red rattlers’ at the Cable Car Museum. The tour ends with tea/coffee and a homemade muffin at the Skyline Restaurant with its commanding views of the city. Take time to explore Kelburn Village or the Botanic Gardens before returning to Lambton Quay on the Cable Car.

See the Southern skies & celebrate the culture, heritage and science of the Southern Skies at Carter Observatory – New Zealand’s longest-serving national observatory.



The Carter Observatory is located in Wellington’s beautiful Botanic Gardens at the top of the Cable Car. It is 2 minutes from the top of the Cable Car, 5 minutes walk from the Botanic Garden’s Playground, 8 minutes for the Treehouse Visitor Centre and an easy walk along Upland Road, Kelburn. The easiest way to reach Carter is via Wellington’s iconic Cable Car.

(Day 7) - Scenic Ferry, Wellington to Picton

The 92 km journey across Cook Strait between Wellington (North Island) and Picton (South Island) takes only 3 hours and has been described as `one of the most beautiful ferry rides in the world`.

Make your way from Wellington to Picton aboard one of 3 amazing ferries and take in the spectacular views along the way. See the South Island’s Kaikoura ranges and have the opportunity to spot dolphins and sea birds.
