14 Days / 12 Nights – New Zealand and Australia. One of our most popular tours to New Zealand and Australia will begin with your first two nights in New Zealand’s north island. In Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, you will find yourself close to outdoors and nature. There are so many walks, beaches and national parks for you to enjoy. If you feel like spending your time in the city, there are so many activities offering unique adventures. Take a cruise into the harbor from downtown Auckland. You can also jetboat, kayak or enjoy a beautiful sail in what is known as the City of Sails.
Continue your journey to the South Island, where three nights will be spent at Queenstown, a stunning location offering majestic views of the Southern Alps. The town is surrounded by the glacier fresh water melt from the mountains forming Lake Wakatipu. Take a stroll around the lake to take in the fresh air while you become revitalized by the sheer beauty of the spectacular views. Each day you spend in Queenstown will be dramatically different from each other as it can offer astonishing experiences in the Fjordland National Park to heart-racing adrenaline pumping encounters through Shotover Canyon.
Follow the adventure towards Australia, where the remaining seven nights are spent in Melbourne, Sydney and Cairns. In Melbourne, there are so many iconic laneways where you can find enticing food and wine and elaborate arts scenes. There are wonderful walking tours that can take you deeper into the city life or even Aboriginal culture! If you want something different than the city, venture out to the famous Great Ocean Road, the largest WWII Memorial, offering gorgeous views of the Twelve Apostles or go wine tasting into Yarra Valley.
Sydney waits to greet you to Australia’s most iconic landmarks. Your experience would not be justified without a visit to the Sydney Opera House with the backdrop of the beautiful harbor. Stay in the downtown area where everything is in walking distance. Take a historic tour of the Rocks District or visit the magnificent Blue Mountains which is a scenic drive outside the city fringes.
Fly over to Cairns where your last three nights will be spent greeting you to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World at the Great Barrier Reef. Where else will you have the opportunity to view such vibrant flora and fauna? Cairns is so far north and closest to the equator than any of your previous locations in this travel package that it is warm year round giving you a tropical paradise. Continue your adventure and choose an excursion to put you into middle of the rainforest. All in all, this travel package will give you lasting impressions to last a lifetime.
Shortly after departing Los Angeles you will be served dinner and you will be given breakfast before landing in Auckland.
Relax, watch some movies, and try to get some sleep!

When you discover Doubtful Sound you will be struck by its silence, a silence broken only by birdsong, or maybe the rushing of a distant waterfall.
On boarding a luxury coach in Queenstown, travel along the shores of Lake Wakatipu and through the rolling countryside to Manapouri. Then cruise across the crystal waters of Lake Manapouri to West Arm before boarding a coach and crossing the alpine route of Wilmot Pass through some of Fiordland’s most dense rainforest. On reaching Deep Cove, board a modern catamaran vessel, the Patea Explorer for a three hour cruise exploring the waterways of this serene and isolated fiord.
There is plenty of time available to explore points of interest and view the spectacular alpine scenery including waterfalls, rainforest and mountains all the way out to the Tasman Sea. It is home to bottlenose dolphins and fur seals and when in season, the rare Fiordland crested penguin. An onboard nature guide with specialist knowledge of the region’s history, flora and fauna provides detailed interpretation in English with a roving microphone. On the return cruise, the vessel’s engines are turned off and passengers are treated to the ‘sound of silence’. There is also a visit included to the Manapouri Power Station by coach before returning to Queenstown. Manapouri Power Station is an impressively large underground hydroelectric power station on the western arm of Lake Manapouri in Fiordland National Park. Lunch options and complimentary tea and coffee are available on the vessel.
*A picnic lunch can be pre-ordered before your tour for an additional cost. There is also a selection of cafe food aboard the vessel for purchase.
Tour departs at approximately 7am and returns at approximately 8pm (seasonally adjusted). Photo Credit: Tourism Media
