Itinerary Details
(Day 1) - International Flight, Los Angeles to Sydney

Travel to Australia on your vacation. After departing from Los Angeles you will be provided with an evening meal. You can relax, have a drink, watch a movie, review your itinerary or just rest. You will be given Breakfast before landing in Sydney, Australia. (You lose one day crossing the International Date Line but don’t worry you catch it up again on your return flight to the USA)

Insider's Tip: Sydney Harbour Pylon Museum and Lookout - Bridgeclimb Alternative

See the fantastic views of the city, the harbour and the world famous icon – the Sydney Harbour Bridge! This is a wonderful alternative if you do not wish to climb the bridge.

Access is via the pedestrian pathway on the Eastern side of the Bridge from the city side (use the Bridge Stairs in Cumberland Street, The Rocks). There are 200 stairs to the Lookout, but on the way up there are 3 levels of exhibits where you will discover the history and construction of the Bridge, the men who built it, and the vision of JJC Bradfield, chief engineer

At the end of (or even before) your visit to the Museum, enjoy the scenery and walk across the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The walk to the North side of Sydney will take approximately 15-20 minutes from the Pylon.

(Days 6 to 9) - 3 Nights Accommodation in Hobart

Travel to your accommodation in Tasmania, Australia, where you will be staying whilst on vacation for 3 nights.

Your vacation accommodation is located in the city centre, only two blocks from the main shopping mall. The hotel features a bar and restaurant and local artwork in a contemporary setting, while the rooms have recently been redecorated to create a modern fresh feel and offer either city or mountain views and WiFi wireless Internet access. Hobart offers a variety of vacation activity. You can travel to Cradle Mountain-St.Clair National Park, a mecca for bush walkers and nature lovers. Magnificent cliffs line the South Ask River. Only a short walk away is Salamanca Place, an 1830 sandstone warehouse converted to galleries, shops, and restaurants which offers many diversions from your travels. For the more adventurous, take a jet boat ride on the Derwent River.

(Day 7) - Free Day to Explore Hobart

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Winglass Bay & Freycinet Tour

Visit one of the world’s top 10 beaches, take in the azure blue waters and white sand that make this region famous. Freycinet is rugged and dramatic with the friendliest wallabies ever!

Wineglass Bay is nestled in the Freycinet National Park on the East Coast of Tasmania. One of Tasmania’s first National Parks this is a coastal area rich in stunning landscapes. Pink granite mountains form the backdrop for secluded bays, pristine waters, white sandy beaches, local wildlife and walking trails.

This tour will pick you up at your Hobart accommodation. Following the coastline north, your see amazing views of Maria Island and quant seaside town on the way to Freycinet National Park.

Walk as a group to the Wineglass Bay Lookout, this is a moderate uphill walk of around 45 minutes. Once at the top you are rewarded with that world – famous view of Wineglass Bay and the stunning Freycinet National Park. Enjoy the moment, take in the views and let our guides help you with those sought after photographs. The walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout is one of the Great Short Walks of Tasmania and requires good mobility and adequate fitness.

From the Lookout you have the option to return to the start of the walk with your tour guide, or keen walkers can choose to spend the rest of the time completing the walk down to Wineglass beach.

Wineglass Bay Beach Walk – This is a 2.5 hr return walk and adequate fitness is required.  You’ll have ample time to do the full walk to Wineglass Bay Beach and return.  Once on the beach you can enjoy our lunch in this stunning setting, jump in the pristine waters for a swim, or wander along the white sands.  This is one of the most rewarding walks in Tasmania!

If you prefer to select the shorter walking option, return from the Wineglass Bay Lookout with your Tour Guide and explore other areas of Freycinet National Park.  Visit Honeymoon Bay, Sleepy Bay, Cape Tourville Lighthouse & Great Short Walk.

After 4-5 hours at Freycinet National Park, you’ll return to Hobart with a few awesome stops along the way!

This is an excellent introduction to Hobart.

The pinnacle of Mt Wellington offers spectacular views of Hobart and surrounds. Travel to such sites as Hobart’s waterfront, Salamanca Place and Battery Point and the Royal Botanical Gardens. Hobart’s famous Salamanca Market on Saturdays is open from 8:30am – 3pm.

Tour Hobart by day on a double decker London bus or a coach tram. Chocolate lovers can visit the Cadbury factory at Claremont and beer connoisseurs can book a guided tour at the Cascade Brewery in South Hobart. Discover Hobart and step out on a Hobart Historic Walk or lap up a Historic Pub Tour. See the lights of Hobart from Rosny Lookout or the summit of Mt Nelson on an evening coach tour.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Tahune & Hastings Tour

This day trip takes you on the Tahune Forest Airwalk – a cantilevered bridge that allows you to walk through the treetops 130 feet (40 meters )above the ground – then on to the Hasting Caves for a swim in the thermal pools and a spectacular underground cave walk.

Your first major adventure for the day is to explore the Tahune Forest Airwalk. Head up the short hill to begin our walk along the Cantilever. It stretches a third of a mile (597 meters) through the treetops. Enjoy the sensation of being suspended above the Huon River with breathtaking views across the treetops and surrounding mountains. You’ll have some time to explore and enjoy nature. You can take on a longer walk (45mins) to experience the “Swinging Bridges.” With a 160 foot (50m) span across the river this is another thrilling experience and makes for fabulous photos! For a more “tame” experience there is the easy 20 minute Huon Pine Walk where these famous and unique local trees grow alongside the river with some as old as 2000 years, a delightful and enchanting short walk.

Continue your journey south to the Hastings Cave Reserve. This is a quiet, remote and spectacular area where you’ll enjoy a variety of activities and soak up the unique atmosphere. Bring your swim gear and jump into the Thermal Springs swimming pool where the water is always 79 degrees (28 degrees Celsius). Or just relax in the beautiful forest surrounds, wander along the Hot Springs Nature Trail where the warm water meets the cool water , and also home to the unique & playful Platypus, keep your eye out for this elusive local.

The Cave Tour is conducted by the National Parks expert guides. Cave temperature is always 9 degrees so bring your jacket along for this one. We head underground to explore this spectacular cave which is Australia’s largest tourist Dolomite Cave.

On return to Hobart there is opportunity to stop at the many roadside stalls and collect some delicious local produce such as Cherries, Berries, Apples, Ice-creams and also a stop for a honey tasting along the way. (fruit & produce stops are seasonal and may also vary due to changeable operating hours of the various operators.)

(Day 8) - Port Arthur & Tasmanian Devils Tour

This tour is a complete Southern Tasmanian iconic experience – Port Arthur Historic Site and Tasmanian Devils.

Start the day with spectacular views from a local Hobart lookout followed by a stroll through Tassie’s prettiest historic village, Richmond. Enjoy the short drive to the Tasman Peninsula to see the highest sea cliffs in Australia, Devils Kitchen, Tasman Arch & Remarkable Cave.

Arrive at Port Arthur Historic Site where you have time to join the guided walking tour and a short harbor cruise around the Isle of the Dead. Then it is off to the Devil Conservation Park, where you can witness the Devils feeding, followed by the excellent “Kings of the Wind” Falconry Show.

When you’re in Cradle Mountain don’t miss this amazing opportunity to go canyoning! Canyoning involves negotiating a steep-sided section of river wearing a wetsuit, buoyancy vest and helmet. Techniques used include abseiling, swimming, jumping off waterfalls and sliding down natural waterslides.


An introduction to canyoning – aimed at ‘soft adventurers’ and families. Of the three hours about an hour is spent in the water. This tour involves walking and floating through a beautiful section of the Dove River. There are a number of small rapids and some optional jump rocks for those who want to spice things up. Children as young as eight are welcome on this tour – a great opportunity to experience nature from a unique point of view.

Experience the breathtaking feeling of floating silently above the Outback as the sun slowly rises over the desert on this awe-inspiring ballooning adventure.

Journey to the launch site in the cool pre-dawn darkness and begin the ascent just as the morning light begins to illuminate the rugged MacDonnell Ranges. Float gently across the vast expanse of the Central Australian outback – keeping an eye out for native wildlife including the iconic red kangaroo and gain an appreciation of the remoteness of the area as the balloon glides across the landscape.

After landing, you may become involved in assisting the crew as they pack the nylon balloon away or you may prefer to take photographs, the choice is yours.
At the ballooning landing site, there is time to enjoy the desert tranquility as light refreshments accompanied by sparkling wine and tropical fruit juice are served. There is an opportunity to purchase ballooning souvenirs and a commemorative flight certificate is given to all participants.

(Day 20) - Kuranda, Scenic Rail, Skyrail & Tjapukai

This tour combines the famous Kuranda Scenic Railway, Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park and Skyrail, the “World’s Most Beautiful Rainforest Experience.”

Skyrail will take you on an amazing experience over Australia’s World Heritage listed Tropical Rainforest canopy and deep into the forest.

Your Skyrail experience should take approximately 1 ½ hours and includes spending time at the two rainforest mid-stations. Allow 20 minutes for each station, to enjoy Ranger guided boardwalk tours and visit the Rainforest Interpretation Centre, lookouts and historical displays.

The famous Kuranda Scenic Railway was built over 100 years ago and winds its way through the tropical mountain ranges between Cairns and Kuranda.

Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park is located within walking distance of Skyrail’s SmithfieldTerminal and combines dance, history and legends to create a dynamic interpretation of 40,000 years of culture.

(Day 21) - Evenging Tour, Flames of the Forest Dinner

Dine on an award winning tropical banquet including local exotic produce and Australian wines. All this as you sit in flickering candlelight by a rushing mountain creek under the canopy of the rainforest.



Journey to a hidden place, you are collected from your accommodation, and leave the highway down a winding road as the forest welcomes you into the night. In a secluded glade your evening begins greeted with sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres you are introduced to a culture that has been in existence for over forty thousand years.




The evening unfolds as it would have many generations before with an ancient tale from the Aboriginal Dreamtime. After dessert, enjoy some Daintree tea and local coffee, explore the river surrounds or simply sit back & let the sounds of the rainforest tell its own story.

Scenic morning hot air balloon ride over the Atherton Tablelands.

Whether this is your first or one of many, this balloon ride is sure to be one of your favorites. In the morning, head about an hour west for take off to the Atherton Tablelands known for its excellent weather, spectacular scenery, and reliable take off conditions. You will be in awe as you see the largest fleet of hot air balloons prepare to sail the skies. On your ride, take in the picturesque landscapes at sunrise as you fly gently above the Tablelands. Even if you have a fear of heights, you’ll see that your flight is very gentle and stable since you gently lift from the ground making you feel comfortable and safe. Experience the unique sensation of breathing in the crisp air on your 30 minute hot air ballooning ride across the wide-open space. When the burner is off, listen to the sounds around you as the wind whips through the air and the sounds below drift up towards you. After your flight, come back down to Earth for landing and have lots of laughs as you assist in hot air balloon pack-up games.

Begin your self-drive in Cairns. You will drive along the Great Tropical Drive headed towards Yungaburra, Australia.

After picking up your rental car in Cairns, travel along Bruce Highway, the Green Way and Palmerston Highway to Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat.

  • Mamu Tropical Skywalk Take a walk in the clouds in Wooroonoon National Park just 15 minutes out of Innisfail. Elevated walkways, a cantilever, and observation tower offer visitors the exhilarating experience of being high in the rainforest canopy, along with providing spectacular panoramic views of World Heritage rainforest landscapes.
  • Mungalli Creek In the rolling green hills of the Southern Atherton Tablelands, 10 minutes from Millaa Millaa Falls, visitors will find Mungalli Creek Dairy, North Queensland’s only Biodynamic Farmhouse Cheesery and Cafe. A must for lovers of fine food! All products served are made on premises with their own produce as well as locally-sourced ingredients. Enjoy some fresh mountain air and stunning views as you relax on the cafe verandah which looks out to Mt Bartle Frere – Queensland’s Highest Mountain.
  • Millaa Millaa Falls Millaa Millaa Falls are magnificent waterfalls surrounded by lush rainforest located on the Waterfalls Circuit, along with Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls. Millaa Millaa Falls are one of the most photographed in all of Australia, so make sure you bring your camera. And if you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a platypus!
  • Australian Platypus Park @ Tarzali Lakes The Australian Platypus Park is home to a thriving platypus population. These wonderful creatures can be found in a spring fed pond surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. This magnificent setting draws in enthusiastic visitors from all over the globe. They also offer Fish Feeding, Fishing, Bird Watching, and dining through the Smokehouse Cafe.
  • Nerada Tea Rooms Nerada Visitor Centre serves beverages and snacks. It also sells merchandise related to tea and the Nerada brand. Tours around the factory and a viewing platform to see the plantation. There are also Lumholtz’s Tree Kangaroos that live in the surrounding trees.
  • Malanda Falls The Malanda Falls are part of the waterfalls and volcanic craters circuit on the Atherton Tablelands. They are known as Tutamonlin by the traditional owners of the area, Ngadjon-Jii. There is an information centre at the falls, which are within the Malanda Falls Conservation Park.

Upon reaching Rose Gums, you will be adjoining World Heritage listed Wooroonooran National Park – a nature lover’s paradise. Rose Gums itself has 230 acres of private tropical forest offering an unforgettable bush experience.

Begin your self-drive from Yungaburra. You will drive along the Great Tropical Drive headed towards Cairns, Australia.

Departing Rose Gums, you will go to the town of Malanda to start your journey back to Cairns. If you’d like, stop and enjoy a visit to the nearby Tarzali Lakes, Nerada Tea Plantation Malanda Falls, or Rainforest Trails. Your next stop will be Ravenshoe, which is Queensland’s highest town. From here you can relish a swim in the Innot Hot Springs, or tour Mt. Garnet. If you’re the more adventurous type, enjoy one of the walking tracks to see the local wildlife and landscape of the region.

Continue your self-drive to Millaa Millaa. Here you can view some of the most picturesque waterfalls in the area! If you’re feeling hungry, you might want to go explore Mungali Creek, and sample their entire range of award winning bio-cynamic/organic dairy products. Keep heading south towards the MaMu Rainforest Canopy Walkway and experience the thrill of climbing the 37 metre observation tower offering beautiful far-reaching views.

Finally, head back to Cairns via Palmerston Highway, The Great Green Way and Bruce Highway for your overnight in Cairns.

(Day 24) - Day Tour, White Water Rafting

Discover a fun and exciting way to discover the pristine rainforest, with a half day of rafting on the Barron River!


Located just 20 minutes outside of Cairns, the half day raft is perfectly suited for the first time adventurer! This tour can be arranged from Cairns, the Northern Beaches or Port Douglas.
No previous experience is necessary to raft these exhilarating grade 1 to 3 rapids through the majestic scenery of Barron Gorge National Park. You don’t even need to know how to swim as you will be fitted with a helmet and life jacket and have your experienced river guide at your side.

Here you can feel the rush of rafting within the awesome wilderness of Australia’s tropical rainforests with operations all year round, tropical water temperatures and breath-taking scenery and rapids. So take a ride through our planet’s oldest continuously growing tropical rainforests on rivers that still run totally wild. Day 1: Diving The Outer Great Barrier Reef

5:45am – Complimentary hotel transfer – available from Cairns City & Northern Beaches accommodation
6:15am – Check in
7:00am – Depart Cairns for 3 days & 2 nights of fantastic diving/snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. A light breakfast is served onboard
11:30am – Your first dive is before lunch. This dive will be offered as a guided dive with an instructor, for those divers who have not dived in a little while
12:45pm – Lunch is served – hearty soup with an array of fresh salads, cold meats & bread rolls
2:30pm – Your second dive – head off & discover more underwater delights. Once you have completed your dive the vessel moves on to the next site
4:30pm – After an afternoon of snorkelling/relaxing its time for your third dive of the trip
6:00pm – Dinner – the menu changes each trip however it will be wholesome, hot & of course lots of it!
7:30pm – The night dive! We generally try to do the night dive at the same site as the afternoon dive, as this way you are familiar with your surroundings. Keep a close eye out for our sleeping turtles, crustaceans & the occasional reef shark!
8:30pm – Dessert is served!

Day 2: Experience More Fantastic Diving On The Outer Great Barrier Reef

7:00am – The vessel moves for an early morning dive. Look out for splendid gorgonian fans, giant clams and bump-headed parrotfish
8:00am – Enjoy a hearty breakfast of cereal, fresh fruit, bacon and eggs as well as toast & spreads
10:30am – After breakfast the vessel moves on for the second dive of the day
12:00pm – Lunch on the second day is hot pasta with a variety of fresh salads
3:00pm – After lunch & a snorkel its time for your third dive
6:00pm – A hot dinner is served before your second night dive
7:30pm – Night dive!
8:30pm – Dessert is served!

Day 3: Morning Dives And Return To Cairns

9:00am – After breakfast, the vessel makes its last site of the trip, where you will do your second dive of the day
11:00am – Your last dive! When you surface freshly made sandwiches are served as the vessel heads home

With many area activities centrally located there’s enough to occupy everyone in the family because Cairns literally has it all! Have a visit to the Esplanade where you can experience all walks of life and make memories. With a nightlife that caters to singles and families alike you’re visit will be filled with so many things to do, so take a deep breath and have fun!

Spend the day in Tropical Queensland’s World Heritage Daintree Rainforest. Includes the best of Cape Tribulation and the Daintree, with Jungle Surfing, lunch, and guaranteed wildlife spotting.

Begin the day by visiting the Wildlife Habitat. See the endangered cassowary, along with other wildlife, as well as the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. Have your picture taken with a koala, snake, or crocodile (extra cost). Morning Tea included. Arrive at Cape Tribulation and enjoy lunch before embarking on a fantastic adventure of Jungle Surfing. Set in the pristine Daintree rainforest at Cape Tribulation, Jungle Surfing takes you on a unique rainforest tour where your feet don’t touch the ground.


Fly through the trees on flying fox ziplines, stopping at tree platforms to take in spectacular bird’s eye views over the treetops. He is a wanted man, in the guise of guest chef at many of the world’s classiest establishments and 5-star kitchens of restaurants and hotels from Dubai to Shanghai.


Ochre Restaurant specialises in local and native produce with a daily catch of seafood and premium Australian beef tenderloin most recently recognized as “Best Beef” at Royal Brisbane Show. Some of their most famous dishes include Salt and Pepper Prawn and Crocodile, Grilled Kangaroo with Quandong Chilli Glaze, Wattleseed Pavlova and their Australian Antipasto Plate – the latter of which is a great meal to start giving diners a delicious insight into the country’s cuisine.

The menu is an excellent read for any visitor and delivers on taste and value-for-money. Be sure to leave room for dessert which the Lonely Planet Guide urges its readers to try with the quote desserts worth moving to Cairns for.

Ochre Restaurant is Cairns most awarded restaurant. Late in 2006 it increased its cache winning both Best Modern Australian and Tourism Restaurant categories at North Queensland’s Annual Restaurant and Caterer’s Awards and has continued to win many local awards since.
