(Days 1 to 3) - 2 Nights Accommodation in Melbourne

Travel to your accommodation in Melbourne, Australia, where you will be staying whilst on vacation for 2 nights.

Your 4 Star vacation accommodation is located in the heart of Melbourne, Australia. Its suites are equipped with kitchenettes, air conditioning, and ensuite bathrooms. Most are facing on to the hotel’s private European style courtyard. The vacation accommodation is close to Chinatown. Or perhaps stroll to the Southern Cross Station and travel by tram throughout the city. For the less adventurous, Melbourne is the perfect launching pad for day tours to such places like Phillip Island and Penguins, or perhaps the Great Ocean Road.

Spend a day on a tour of the most beautiful section of Victoria’s south coast, an adventure along the Great Ocean Road.

Enjoy one of the world’s greatest coastal drives – it’s severity and striking contrasts will remain etched in your memory forever. Enjoy views of Melbourne and Port Phillip Bay from the West Gate Bridge, Stroll along the pristine sandy beaches and wander through the sleepy seaside holiday towns. Discover the deep lush fern gullies and eucalypt trees that roll down to the sheer cliffs that plunge dramatically into the ocean. View majestic monoliths dramatically protruding from the sea including the Twelve Apostles which are the world’s largest coastal limestone towers – an awesome spectacle. Marvel at Loch Ard Gorge and London Bridge – millions of years of erosion have sculpted these incredible landmarks.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included)- Phillip Island & Penguin Parade - Afternoon/Evening

Phillip Island is home to an astounding array of wildlife, including Australia’s largest fur seal colony, the little penguins and cuddly koalas. Enjoy getting close to koalas and kangaroos before joining the little penguins at dusk, as they emerge from the surf and waddle to their burrows.

Get up close and personal with the friendly residents of Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you learn about the conservation of these loveable native animals. The eco certified sanctuary also showcases some lesser known but equally adorable endangered species including the Southern Bettong, Eastern Quolls and rare Fluffy Gliders. From there travel to Phillip Island where you see the Nobbies, and Seal Rocks before travelling on to Summerland beach for the nightly penguin parade. Home to Victoria’s largest colony of little penguins, Summerland beach provides a spectacular backdrop to the world famous penguin parade. Watch as hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach and go home for the night. Come and enjoy the beauty and native wildlife and make this a journey to remember. Tour conclusion depends on time of year and ranges from 10pm during the winter months to midnight during summer as the penguins arrive at sunset.

(Days 3 to 6) - Car Rental, Self Drive through the Yarra Valley

Discover Australia as you travel by rental car for three days.

As part of your vacation self-drive Australia and explore our stunning landscapes, coastlines, regional towns and wildlife. Stop and meet the locals, maybe enjoy a counter meal at a local Aussie pub, or relax on the beach while sampling some takeaway fish & chips from the local deli or servo. During one of your rest stops try to spot a kangaroo, emu or even a Koala in the wild.

Please bring a valid American drivers license with you and be aware that the Australians drives on the left hand side of the road.

(Day 3) - Self Drive - Melbourne to Yarra Valley

This self-drive through regional Victoria, Australia begins in Melbourne and ends in the beautiful Yarra Valley wine region.

Depart Melbourne in the morning and head north east towards Yarra Valley. This is amazing region is filled with fantastic wines and gourmet foods sprinkled amongst the spectacular scenery of the vineyards of Yara Valley. This is a great opportunity to tour some local wineries and sample the fruits of their labor. Dine in style at either the De Bortoli Yarra Valley Estate or at the Fergusson Winery & Restaurant. Both feature menus with local flavors including cheeses, spit roasts and of course, wines.

Come and visit the magnificent original starting place of Victorian wine. You can sample wines from so many different wineries and cellar doors. Learn how to pair your favorite wine with some of the local produce and cheeses. The Tarra Warra Museum of Art is also nearby and showcases local and international works of art, or visit one of the many local art galleries and studios sprinkled around the region. There is so much to do in this region, be sure to keep your schedule open for new adventures in the Yarra Valley.

(Day 6) - Self Drive - Yarra Valley to Melbourne

This self-drive through regional Victoria, Australia begins in Yarra Valley and ends in Melboure. Along this beautiful self-drive you will also visit locations the Dandenong Ranges.

Take your time getting back to Melbourne. There are lots of things to see and do along the way. From Yarra Valley you will head east towards Healesville, where you will find the Healesville Sanctuary. This is home to koalas, kangaroos, Tasmanian devils and so many more Australian animals. Here you can even enjoy a Birds of Prey presentation or wander through the bushland tracks to learn about the native flora and fauna.

Just a little over 30 min south is the Dandenong Ranges National Park. Here you can escape from the city and enjoy the serene towering forest and lush fern glades. Be sure to visit the William Ricketts Sanctuary where you will follow a path guided by mystical sculptures. If you have the time to be sure to experience the Sherbrooke Forest, One Tree Hill, the Kokoda Walk and the Thousand Steps.
