(Day 1) - International Flight, Los Angeles to Sydney

Travel to Australia on your vacation. After departing from Los Angeles you will be provided with an evening meal. You can relax, have a drink, watch a movie, review your itinerary or just rest. You will be given Breakfast before landing in Sydney, Australia. (You lose one day crossing the International Date Line but don’t worry you catch it up again on your return flight to the USA)

Walk to Circular Quay and catch a ferry to our wonderful harbour-side Taronga Park Zoo, or take the 30 minute ferry ride to Manly Beach, Sydney’s premier beach resort. Here you can enjoy the laid back beach culture as well as many festivals and events. If you prefer to stay closer to downtown Sydney, Bondi Beach is approximately a 10 minute train ride and is one of Australia’s most famous and iconic beaches. Save some time to take a beach walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach, it’s known to be a true highlight. If visiting on a weekend then go to the Rocks Market and shop for local Arts, Crafts & unique Australian Souvenirs.

Escape the city and discover unspoiled coastline, native bushland and wildlife on a one-day walking adventure through Sydney’s Royal National Park.

Experience ancient Aboriginal carvings, stunning headlands, unique sandstone formations of Wave Rock and the White Cliffs of Marley and the secluded Marley beaches.

Have the best vantage point in Sydney for whale watching during the annual humpback migration between June and November. We love whales too and stop at every opportunity to watch them glide majestically past, so close you can hear them breathe and hear the splash of the water when they breach. Over 1800 were sighted from land in Sydney last June and July at an average of 28 a day.

Expertly guided and fully catered, this is the perfect way to get outside and discover Sydney’s natural beauty. This is graded as an easy walk as it is relatively flat, although we do recommend moderate fitness. We walk up to 14km over 8 hours, including photo, rest and lunch breaks. Come prepared to hike, wearing enclosed, supportive shoes and appropriate clothing.

The Sydney Explorer is a Hop On, Hop Off, sightseeing bus that takes in 27 key landmarks of the inner city (Opera House, Darling Harbour) and eastern beaches (Coogee and Bondi).


This unique city tour through Sydney departs from Circular Quay every 20 minutes starting at 8:40am, with the last round-trip service departing at 5:20pm. You can get on or off at any of the stops on the route. After traveling through some of Sydney’s most exclusive residential areas, the tours take in some of Sydney’s most spectacular coastlines and beaches. The bus travels every day along a 30km route and makes numerous stops.

(Days 4 to 6) - 2 Nights Accommodation in Launceston

Travel to your accommodation in Launceston, Tasmania where you will be staying whilst on vacation for 2 nights.

Spend time in Launceston sipping fine wine and nibbling on smooth crumbling cheese or relaxing amongst the luxurious surrounds of your room watching the tranquil Tamar River and its abundance of wildlife.

The surrounding precinct has become a new and vibrant centre of Launceston, Tasmania with a wide range of cafes and restaurants to experience and the opportunity to be pampered at the Mud Urban Day Spa. Adventures further afield include the impressive Cataract Gorge, the famous James Boag brewery and if you’re a wine lover, Launceston’s Tamar Valley, home to one of Australia’s major cool-climate wine growing regions.

(Days 6 to 11) - 6 Days/ 5 Nights Hiking the Walls of Jerusalem in Tasmania

Visit Tasmania’s only true alpine National Park, the Walls of Jerusalem, during this six day full-pack bushwalking expedition showcasing the regions spectacular mountain scenery, pristine wilderness as well as unique flora and fauna. From your initial base camp you will spend two days exploring the surrounding peaks and valleys of the central northern Walls region. There is an option to summit King Davids Peak (1499m), Tasmania’s 10th highest, as well as walks up Mt Jerusalem, The Temple and Solomons Throne. The trek continues through remote alpine herb fields and highland lake country, sideling Lake Adelaide, Lake Meston and Junction Lake to name a few. In the southern confines of the National Park we will have the opportunity to summit Mt Ragoona and Cathedral Mountain. These peaks both provide impressive views onto the southern wilderness of the famous Overland Track and the headwaters of the mighty Mersey River and its Never Never region.

Day 1 Launceston to Walls of Jerusalem National Park
Today you will be collected from your accommodation in Launceston and transferred to the Walls
of Jerusalem National Park entry point. Carrying our full backpacks into this magnificent highland
area will provide us with a challenge but we will be provided with plenty of encouragement from
our guides as well as snacks & numerous rest stops. After a good climb past Trappers Hut in
the shadow of Clumner Bluff, we leave the tall forests of the Mersey Valley and reach the alpine
ecosystems that fill the Central Plateau.
It will take approx 4 hours to reach our base camp at the Wild Dog Creek camping site where we are equipped with raised tent platforms, a composting toilet and an outdoor communal dining/kitchen area. We spend the next two days here under the gaze of the regions highest peak, King David (1499m).

Day 2 Central Walls of Jerusalem day walks
Today we explore the main “Walls” area. With forays through the Golden Gate and Officers marsh, we may experience some mud but are constantly surrounded by a fantastic display of cushion plants. The awesome east wall, Mt. Jerusalem is our goal where we gain views across a once ice strewn landscape that has flattened mountains and created mosaics of a thousand lakes. We return to our camp at Wild Dog Creek.

Day 3 Wild Dog Creek to Lake Meston
After packing up camp this morning, we leave the Walls via Damascus Vale to Lake Ball. After
a stunning remnant Pencil Pine forest, we traverse the northern side of Lake Ball and then drop
down onto the Adelaide Plain and alongside Lake Adelaide. We walk along the eastern side of Lake Adelaide to the headwaters of the Mersey River to camp on the northern shore of Lake Meston, surrounded by remote wilderness.

Day 4 Lake Meston to Junction Lake
Leaving our campsite beside Lake Meston we follow the Junction Lake Track until Meston Hut (built by Dick Reed in 1969). Here we turn off the main track for a side trip to Mt Ragoona, which we will ascend via the Mount Ragoona Plateau and then westward to the summit (1350 metres). Mt Ragoona has some of the best views of the high country in Tasmania. We then retrace our steps to Meston Hut and collect our packs and continue on towards Junction Lake where we camp for the night.

Day 5 Junction Lake to Grail Falls OR to Lake Bill
Leaving Junction Lake we follow the Moses Track past Cloisters Lagoon towards Grail Falls where we set up camp and enjoy a picnic lunch by the falls. We spend the afternoon walking towards Cathedral Mountain, exploring Chalice Lake on the mountain plateau & taking in the spectacular views of the Twin Spires and Cradle Mountain Lake St Clair National Park. Weather and track conditions may dictate that our route is redirected onto the Lake Bill Track where we will set up camp. Off-track navigation highlights today’s walking as well.

Day 6 Grail Falls OR Lake Bill to Launceston
This morning’s walk off the plateau will take us through pleasant forests to where we meet up with
our Tasmanian Expeditions transfer driver on the Mersey Forest Road. We return to Launceston via Mole Creek, where we enjoy a refreshing lunch. Arrival in Launceston is at approximately 5pm.

Melbourne is a Multicultural City boasting many boutique cafes, wineries and extensive shopping. You’ll also find it very easy to get around on the trains and trams, especially within the inners of Melbourne.

Meet a WILD koala and learn about their history and social life. Search for WILD kangaroos in their natural environment. Small group tour of 2 to 8 people.

Stroll through a national park looking for wild koalas, cockatoos and kookaburras. Your Wildlife Guide and Koala Researcher will explain the behaviour and individuality of each of the Koalas you meet.


Walk quietly up to a wild mob of Kangaroos on the plains and in open Bushland. They are thrilling animals to watch. Their natural instinct is to flee humans, but with care we often get close enough to observe their complex social life. We may also find parrots, fairy-wrens, emus, honeyeaters, wallabies and reptiles. Your Wildlife Guide will help you understand them. A substantial picnic lunch is included.

Phillip Island is home to an astounding array of wildlife, including Australia’s largest fur seal colony, the little penguins and cuddly koalas. Enjoy getting close to koalas and kangaroos before joining the little penguins at dusk, as they emerge from the surf and waddle to their burrows.

Get up close and personal with the friendly residents of Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you learn about the conservation of these loveable native animals. The eco certified sanctuary also showcases some lesser known but equally adorable endangered species including the Southern Bettong, Eastern Quolls and rare Fluffy Gliders. From there travel to Phillip Island where you see the Nobbies, and Seal Rocks before travelling on to Summerland beach for the nightly penguin parade. Home to Victoria’s largest colony of little penguins, Summerland beach provides a spectacular backdrop to the world famous penguin parade. Watch as hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach and go home for the night. Come and enjoy the beauty and native wildlife and make this a journey to remember. Tour conclusion depends on time of year and ranges from 10pm during the winter months to midnight during summer as the penguins arrive at sunset.
