(Day 1) - International Flight, Los Angeles to Sydney (Check quote for inclusion)

Travel to Australia on your vacation. After departing from Los Angeles you will be provided with an evening meal. You can relax, have a drink, watch a movie, review your itinerary or just rest. You will be given Breakfast before landing in Sydney, Australia. (You lose one day crossing the International Date Line but don’t worry you catch it up again on your return flight to the USA)

This tour has 300+ stairs – Low Impact. Walk to Circular Quay and catch a ferry to our wonderful harbour-side Taronga Park Zoo, or take the 30 minute ferry ride to Manly Beach, Sydney’s premier beach resort. Here you can enjoy the laid back beach culture as well as many festivals and events. If you prefer to stay closer to downtown Sydney, Bondi Beach is approximately a 10 minute train ride and is one of Australia’s most famous and iconic beaches. Save some time to take a beach walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte Beach, it’s known to be a true highlight. Escape the city and discover unspoiled coastline, native bushland and wildlife on a one-day walking adventure through Sydney’s Royal National Park.

Experience ancient Aboriginal carvings, stunning headlands, unique sandstone formations of Wave Rock and the White Cliffs of Marley and the secluded Marley beaches.

Have the best vantage point in Sydney for whale watching during the annual humpback migration between June and November. We love whales too and stop at every opportunity to watch them glide majestically past, so close you can hear them breathe and hear the splash of the water when they breach. Over 1800 were sighted from land in Sydney last June and July at an average of 28 a day.

Expertly guided and fully catered, this is the perfect way to get outside and discover Sydney’s natural beauty. This is graded as an easy walk as it is relatively flat, although we do recommend moderate fitness. We walk up to 14km over 8 hours, including photo, rest and lunch breaks. Come prepared to hike, wearing enclosed, supportive shoes and appropriate clothing.

For approximately 3.5 hours you and 11 other eager climbers will join a climb guide and weave through catwalks, climb up ladders and then arrive at the most spectacular point of all – the upper arch climb. The steady incline to the upper arch leaves you free to focus your attention on your Sydney experience, with opportunities for 360 degree views of Sydney, including east to the ocean, west to the mountains and the harbor city surrounds.

(Days 6 to 8) - 3 Days/ 2 Nights Hiking Cradle Mountain in Tasmania

Cradle Mountain’s beauty, peace & exhilaration are yours to discover on this accommodated three day walking holiday. Carrying just a day pack, explore the highlights of the parks impressive mountainous terrain, temperate forests & unique flora and fauna. During this ideal short escape there is the opportunity to climb Cradle Mountain to marvel at the 360-degree panoramic views of Tasmania’s highest mountains and surrounding wilderness area from its summit. At the end of each day you are treated to warm hospitality in our comfortable and exclusive cabins as our expert guides prepare delicious meals to re-energize you for the next day’s activity. The evenings are for you to relax at the cabins, wonder at the local environment and enjoy reminiscing about the day’s events.

Day 1 Launceston to Cradle Mountain National Park and Dove Lake
Today you will be picked up from your accommodation in Launceston between 8.00am and 8.30am & transferred to a pre-departure briefing at the Arthouse Hostel in Launceston beginning at 8.30am. Your guides will present a general overview of the trip, conduct a gear check and provide the opportunity to hire/borrow any equipment/clothing that you may need. We will aim to depart at approx 9.30am, transferring to our private cabins at Cradle Mountain which will take approximately 3 hours including a mid journey leg stretch in Sheffield – Tassie’s town of murals. On arrival we will unload the bus and have lunch before setting off on an afternoon walk around the beautiful Dove Lake. During the walk your guides will take the time to introduce this spectacular area to you – the history of the region, its pioneers, the amazing prehistoric plant life and impressive views of Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake you will witness. An optional visit to the Devils at Cradle – Tasmanian Devil Sanctuary (www.devilsatcradle.com)is available at 5.30pm. A noctural feeding tour costs $25 per adult and $12.50 per child. Returning to our cabin accommodation your guides will prepare a feast for you to enjoy as you relive the excitement of the day & prepare for our full day in the National Park tomorrow. Day 2 Cradle Mountain National Park
Today can be as challenging or as leisurely as you wish. Conditions permitting, your guides will offer you the opportunity to trek to the base of Cradle Mountain and to climb to its summit. The breathtaking 360 degree views on offer are a worthy reward for the effort required to reach the summit. En route you will encounter the beautiful Crater Falls and Crater Lake before tackling the steep trail up to Marion’s Lookout. If weather or other conditions prevent our summit attempt there are numerous alternatives, a popular one is the challenging Face Track which skirts beneath the well known outline of Cradle Mountain. Your guides are passionate about this wonderland and will provide a day full of highlights. Blue skies or rough weather this region provides a very special experience. Your guides will provide a packed lunch and plenty of snacks to keep your energy up whilst wandering throughout the day. When we return to our cabins you will be able to freshen up and relax while your guides prepare another hearty evening meal. Walking Distance 12km Walking Time 8 hours Meals: B,L,D

Day 3 Cradle Mountain to Launceston
This morning we will pack up our belongings, load the bus and enjoy a selection of morning walks including the King Billy Walk. This walk takes in some of the oldest trees in the world including an ancient King Billy that is between 1500 and 2000 years old. Our walking complete, we will share a picnic lunch at the National Park & check out the visitor centre. Traveling back to Launceston we will pass through the wonderful Tassie countryside with its rolling farmland and colonial style towns- arriving back at your accommodation at approx 5pm. Located at the southernmost tip of mainland Australia, Wilsons Promontory is a pristine wildlife haven with picturesque beach strolls to peaceful bush walks and spectacular views.

 “The Prom” as it is widely known, was the first National Park established in Australia in 1898 & remains one of Victoria’s most loved and cherished natural attractions. This pristine slice of natural wilderness will inspire and intrigue even the most discerning traveler, with its panoramic views, pristine white beaches, coastal forests, cool climate rainforests and well-preserved walking tracks.

The Prom is home to many marsupials, such as kangaroos & wombats, native birds and other native animals such as emus, which with a bit of luck you can see up-close. The best way to explore the Prom is on foot, so you will no doubt enjoy your stroll along some spectacular tracks & be entertained by the pure white quartz ‘singing sands’ of Squeaky Beach. An opportunity is available to enjoy either a gentle rainforest walk at Lilly Pilly Rainforest or amazing panoramic views from the summit of Mount Bishop which we climb via an easy to medium graded walking track.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included)- Phillip Island & Penguin Parade - Afternoon/Evening

Phillip Island is home to an astounding array of wildlife, including Australia’s largest fur seal colony, the little penguins and cuddly koalas. Enjoy getting close to koalas and kangaroos before joining the little penguins at dusk, as they emerge from the surf and waddle to their burrows.

Get up close and personal with the friendly residents of Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park, where you learn about the conservation of these loveable native animals. The eco certified sanctuary also showcases some lesser known but equally adorable endangered species including the Southern Bettong, Eastern Quolls and rare Fluffy Gliders. From there travel to Phillip Island where you see the Nobbies, and Seal Rocks before travelling on to Summerland beach for the nightly penguin parade. Home to Victoria’s largest colony of little penguins, Summerland beach provides a spectacular backdrop to the world famous penguin parade. Watch as hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach and go home for the night. Come and enjoy the beauty and native wildlife and make this a journey to remember. Tour conclusion depends on time of year and ranges from 10pm during the winter months to midnight during summer as the penguins arrive at sunset.

The spectacular Great Ocean Road is one of Australia’s most popular destinations. Experience views of uninterrupted beaches, dramatic coastlines and the lush rainforest of the Otway Ranges with this small group eco-tour.

Travel west to the start of the Great Ocean Road and pass the coastal towns of Lorne and Apollo Bay. Arrive at the iconic Cape Otway Lighthouse, mainland Australia’s oldest surviving lighthouse and enjoy breathtaking views over the Southern Ocean and Bass Strait.

Discover the Shipwreck Coast, stroll along the historic beaches and see Loch Ard Gorge. Arrive at the famous 12 Apostles and descend the Gibson’s Steps, where you will be dwarfed by the high cliff line and these enormous offshore stacks. The highlights of this Great Ocean Road adventure include a visit to Bells Beach, where you’ll see one of Australia’s famous surfing beaches, world renowned for the Rip Curl Surfing Pro.

Enjoy the breathtaking view from iconic Cape Otway Lighthouse and learn about the fascinating history of the Aboriginal owners of the Gadabanud Peoples’ Cultural Centre. You will be afforded stops where you’ll see wildlife like Eastern grey kangaroos, koalas and native birds in the wild.
