Itinerary Details
(Day 1) - International Flight, Los Angeles to Papeete

Your flight is non-stop from Los Angeles to Papeete, French Polynesia.

Please confirm with the airline at check-in that they have all your Frequent Flyer information on record (if applicable).

(Day 1) - Shuttle Transfer, Papeete Airport to Accommodation

(Days 1 to 4) - 3 Nights Accommodation in Tahiti

Set in lush gardens at Lafayette Beach on the north east coast, your vacation accommodation is the idyllic retreat boasting direct access to a unique volcanic black sanded beach, with stunning views on Matavai Bay, the ocean, and the sunset. Enjoy your 3 night stay on the Island of Tahiti.

Located just 7kms from Papeete city centre, the resort provides convenient access to some of the best local attractions. Resort guests enjoy a wide range of free activities, Le Spa, the panoramic swimming pool and jacuzzi.

(Day 2) - Day Tour, 4x4 Safari - Half Day

Take a 4×4 to the very heart of the island of Tahiti.

Admire the valley of Papenoo which is famous for its rivers and enjoy the incredible waterfall and tropical plant views. This is a relaxing place where you can really get back to nature. Don’t hesitate to ask your guide any questions that come to mind! Your guide will be present throughout the journey and will answer any questions you may have about local flora and fauna and geology.

(Day 3) - Day Tour, Hiking in Fataua Valley - Half Day

Explore the incredible Fautaua valley with its vast pools set in columnar basalt, archaeological sites and Loti waterfall.

Loaded with history and legends Fataua is the most renowned valley in Tahiti. The trek starts by an hour of walking along a large shaded track following the river which ends up at a small wooden pontoon. From there 2 options are possible :

1 – Access the top of the Loti waterfall, with its basin naturally dug within the rock. Reach the belvedre with a superb view on the waterfalls, visit of the “Fort de Fachoda”, an important place in the Polynesian history.

2 – Access the base of the Loti Waterfall, then visit another pretty smaller waterfall. No steep climbing expected for that option. Following the river using a thinner track.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Whale Watching, August - October

Have a once in a lifetime experience and get up close and personal with these incredible mammals.

Whales come to Polynesia’s warm waters from August to October to give birth. You will see the whales jump out of the water and slap the water’s surface with their tails. The animals’ welfare is a priority and during the trip the whales must not be frightened or injured. Learn all about them from your expert guide who will also advise you if you can get in the water with the whales or not.

Insider Tip: Golfing

Tahiti’s only course, the Olivier Breaud International Golf Course is located on the southern side of Tahiti Nui.

This 6944-yard, par 72 course features two man-made lakes and sprawling fairways. Formerly a cotton plantation, the course was recently renovated and now includes a new clubhouse, driving range, pool, restaurant, pro shop, and tennis courts.

Insider Tip: 'Le-Marche' Public Market in Papeete

Discover the true heart of Papeete – the 155 year old public market – called Le Marché.

Shop from hundreds of stands filled with Tahitian-made crafts, oils, vanilla, fruits, and flowers. The perfect place to find everything imaginable from all the islands. Open everyday except holidays, the market is especially colorful and lively on Sunday mornings when locals stock up for a day of family gatherings. Located two blocks from the waterfront by taxi from your resort.

Insider Tip: Roulottes in Vai'ete Square

Enjoy a unique and informal dinner or a memorable post-dinner dessert at Vai’ete Square.

Stop by the roulottes, or “food trucks,” that gather at the wharf in downtown Papeete each evening. Hungry visitors can wander among the dozens of roulottes to choose local fare. Unbelievably delicious meals – including stir fry, curry, roast pig, pizza, and flaming crêpes – can be had at bargain prices in a fun, local atmosphere.

(Day 5) - Day Tour, ATV Discovery Tour

Easy and fun, this tour allows you to fully enjoy the beauty of the land of Moorea and explore places inaccessible to standard vehicles. Craters with steep lines, lush and varied plantations, rivers, panoramic views …

The tour starts with a short briefing to explain how to drive these engines. Drive on the main road until Opunohu bay and then reach the Belvedere panoramic view. After a short break and a short drive, the tour will stop at the agricultural school. This is the perfect place to drive slowly through the local vegetation and listen to the explanations of your guide about the tropical fruits, vegetables and their use in the Polynesian life.

(Day 6) - Day Tour, Hiking the 3 Coconut Trail

Set off from the Belvedere and hike through the tropical forest where your guide will teach you about Polynesian plants and their uses in the past until today. The trail will take you to the pass that looks over the island’s crater, mountains and lagoon; the perfect time for a break before turning back.

The rainforest of Moorea is full of plants with varied shapes and colors, plants which Polynesians have taken advantage of : In food raw or cooked, for clothing, preventive and curative medicine, hygiene and protection body care, but also for fishing, hunting and even as night lights!

In the bamboo forest, your guide will show you how to cook without any utensil other than bamboo. You will also learn to recognize the different bird songs, their meaning and usefulness for hunting.

The winding path will lead you to the coconut trees that mark the arrival mountain pass, a viewpoint located at the foot of the mountain “Mou’a roa” also named “Bali Hai mountain”. Standing at the edge of the caldera, contemplate the various mountain ranges of Moorea ” Speared Mountain “, the “Rotu’i” and “Tohi’e’a” mountains.

Optional Day Tour (Not Included) - Tiki Village Tahitian Feast

Come meet the Polynesians who will make you discover and share their culture, their art and their dances.

The Tiki Village is a re-created Polynesian village. This picturesque village, nestled by the lagoon of Haapiti, depicts the “old Tahiti” with its typical pandanus thatched-roof houses. There are several huts where Polynesian women or men demonstrate mat weaving, Tiki carving, flower leis and crown making, tatooing etc… For an entire evening, in a Polynesian village of yesterday, enjoy a typical Polynesian buffet featuring many dishes cooked in the traditional ground oven, roasted pig, chicken in Polynesian spinach, bread fruit, taro, fei, fish etc… Barbecue chicken and beef, and different kinds of salad are available as well. With flowers, coconut palms, burning torches…the feast decor and atmosphere are recreated just for you. During your meal, a trio of musicians will perform first, then a spectacular dance show will tell you all about Tahitian legends, all performed in the natural settings of an open air theatre with 60 artists, dancers and musicians. The highlight of the evening is the Fire dancing performed by young native men from Moorea.

Insider Tip: Golfing

Designed by the famous golfer Jack Nicklaus, this international 18-hole course was opened in 2007.

It is just minutes from Moorea airport and the ferry port. Moorea Green Pearl is picture perfect. Holes 1-9 are perfectly positioned around clear ponds whilst holes 10-18 are uniquely positioned in the middle of an extinct volcano with some of the best views in the world.
