Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary [BNE70]
Day Tour, River Cruise and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. Brisbane, Australia.

Take an informative and entertaining river cruise down the Brisbane River followed by 3 hours at a koala sanctuary where you can hand feed kangaroos and emus. And YES…cuddle a koala!

Board your river cruise vessel for an Aussie adventure like no other. You’ll come face to face with a unique inner-city colony of fruit bats hidden among the mangroves, get up close and personal with Australia’s cuddliest creatures, and see breathtaking modern mansions and historic Queenslander homes along Brisbane’s sought-after riverfront.

The koala sanctuary opened in 1927 as a safe refuge for sick, injured, and orphaned koalas, at a time when the species was being culled for the fur trade. The founder recognized something had to be done to help protect one of Australia’s most iconic species.

Today, it remains a destination for local and international guests to not only see native Australian animals, but to also connect and learn, and to leave feeling inspired to make small, positive changes in their daily lives to help protect their own native wildlife and habitats.

You are encouraged to connect with wildlife through specially crafted, close encounters including kangaroo feeding, koala cuddle, wildlife photos, raptor show, etc.
