Marvel at the spectacular Australian landscapes from fertile countryside surrounding Adelaide to the rusty hues of the Red Centre, onto the tropical splendour of the Top End. You will travel on The Ghan, the ultimate journey through the heart of the continent, from Darwin to Adelaide in the comfort of a sleeper cabin.
Adelaide is a city of great visual harmony and has a classical elegant style, superbly set beside the River Torrens between the Adelaide Hills and waters of Gulf St Vincent. Be sure and visit the Adelaide Central Market, the largest fresh produce market in the Southern Hemisphere. Another must see is the National Aboriginal Cultural Institute (Tandanya) the worlds largest display of Aboriginal culture and artifacts. Nearby in the Adelaide Hills is the National Motor Museum which comprises over 300 cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles and is considered to be one of the best displays in the world.
Then off to Melbourne, which is set around the shores of Port Phillip Bay. The city itself, laid out in a large rectangle and boasting a lively and cosmopolitan pulse, sits on the northern banks of the Yarra River, about five kilometers from the bay. Regional Victoria also boasts a flourishing arts scene, with impressive galleries, museums, and heritage buildings.

Access to The Lagoon is easy here which is set overlooking the Barrier Reef and Trinity inlet and features all year free swimming where you can take a dip in this filtered saltwater lagoon. Let the kids can play in the sandy edges and in the shallow waters while you lounge on the semi-shaded timber decks. For the kids, don’t miss out on the Trinity Bay foreshore playground “Muddy” with equipment for all ages. For the older kids, stop off at the Skate Park to see some skaters and BMXers in action! Whether you decide to take a morning jog, fly a kite or just relax in the large grassy areas for some lunch you will surely enjoy the tropical lifestyle!
If you happen to be in Cairns on a Saturday be sure to check out the Weekend Markets which feature only locally made arts and crafts, clothing and much more. While you’re there listen out for the live music and fun street characters. The market gets into full swing on the promenade (just by the lagoon) every Saturday between 8am – 4pm.

Today you’ll go on a cruise onboard the T6 to the Great Barrier Reef, one of the natural wonders of the world, and not surprisingly the world’s most extensive coral reef.
T6 departs daily from Cairns. A 90 minute journey to the outer reef will see you arriving at the first of the day’s two sites, selected from a range of 15 from coral gardens to caves and canyons to walls and drop offs, many of which are exclusively owned by the tour operator. Sites are chosen as the optimum locations for the weather conditions, and change daily, so each day will bring you a whole new underwater adventure! Diving (Certified and Introductory) and snorkeling are all on offered at the reef, where 5 hours allows plenty of time to enjoy water and topside activities.
Includes: Transfers to and from Cairns & Northern Beaches hotels, Marine Interpretation talks, underwater photography briefs, 1 guided snorkel tour, 3 Certified and 2 Introductory dives are available on board at own expense. Introductory Dive: Participants are required to complete a medical questionnaire upon boarding. A history of asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy are some of the conditions that may preclude you from diving.
Certified Dive: Certified divers are required to produce their Certification Cards upon boarding, and sign paperwork stating they are mentally and physically fit to dive. The diving is conducted in buddy pairs, with guided diving with a dive master available as an optional extra.

Travel along a scenic coastal drive to Port Douglas to experience the wildlife, rainforest, rivers and beaches of the region.
Enjoy one of Australia’s most scenic coastal drives via the Captain Cook Highway to Port Douglas. Join a guided tour and see the endangered cassowary, handfeed free-roaming kangaroos and wallabies, and view the many free-flying parrots, cockatoos, and other native birds at the award-winning Wildlife Habitat (morning tea included). At the Daintree River Cruise Centre, cross the Daintree River on cable-driven ferry into Daintree National Park, a
spectacular wilderness region. Spot crocodiles, birds and other wildlife as you journey through the mangroves. Arrive at the other side of the Daintree River and travel along the rainforest fringed Cape Tribulation Road though the Daintree National Park. Stop at Alexandra Lookout for magnificent views. Stop at Floravilla Art Gallery & Ice Cream Factory for a picnic lunch. At Dubuji Boardwalk enjoy a guided rainforest walk and visit Myall Beach before your return journey back to Cairns.

Begin the day by visiting the Wildlife Habitat. See the endangered cassowary, along with other wildlife, as well as the opportunity to hand-feed kangaroos and wallabies. Have your picture taken with a koala, snake, or crocodile (extra cost). Morning Tea included.
Cross the Daintree River on the Daintree River Cruise spotting Crocodiles, birds and other animals in the wild as you journey through the mangroves. Venture to Alexandra Lookout for magnificent views of the Daintree River and Coral Sea.
Arrive at Cape Tribulation and enjoy a picnic lunch at a picturesque setting before embarking on a fantastic adventure Jungle Surfing. Set in the pristine Daintree rainforest at Cape Tribulation, Jungle Surfing takes you on a unique rainforest tour where your feet don’t touch the ground. Fly through the trees on flying fox ziplines, stopping at tree platforms to take in spectacular bird’s eye views over the treetops. Travel south from Darwin to the picturesque Litchfield National Park.
Litchfield National Park’s major attractions are the permanent spring fed waterfalls of Florence, Tolmer and Wangi falls. The Park’s central sandstone plateau supports patches of monsoonal rainforest that thrive in the deep, narrow gorges created over thousands of years by the force of the waterfalls cutting into the escarpment walls. Common wildlife species include wallaroos, wallabies, possums, flying foxes and dingoes. The caves near Tolmer Falls are home to a colony of rare Orange Horseshoe Bats. Litchfield is a haven for hundreds of native bird species. Birds of prey are common during the Dry season and the Rainbow Bee-eater inhabits the sheltered areas close to waterfalls. See the picturesque double waterfall that forms beautiful Florence Falls, surrounded by lush rainforest. Continue to Tolmer Falls. Noted as one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the park, Tolmer Falls cascades over two high escarpments and plunges into a deep waterhole below. Journey a short distance to the rock pool at Wangi Falls where there’s time to enjoy a refreshing swim in the waters at the waterfall’s base, (conditions permitting). Or perhaps take a nature walk to the top of Wangi Falls and enjoy a bird’s-eye view.

The Ghan – Outback Australian Train Journey, Northern Territory & South Australia (2 nights)
Experience one of the most fascinating legendary train journeys of the world on The Ghan. The transcontinental journey from Darwin to Adelaide (or vica versa) covers 2979kms and fully accommodates passengers for the two day ride. Marvel at the spectacular Australian landscapes; from the rusty reds of the MacDonnell Ranges surrounding a town called Alice, gateway to Ayers Rock and the Red Centre, then north to Tennant Creek, Katherine and the tropical splendour of Darwin. Guests are able to break (or start) their journey in Alice Springs and then rejoin The Ghan to travel on to Darwin or Adelaide (or vica versa). The Ghan first departed Adelaide for Alice Springs on 4 August 1929, it was always intended that it would one day travel through to Darwin. That dream became reality on 8 February 2004.

Your day begins at the Adelaide bus terminal for a scenic coach trip down through the Fleurieu Peninsula to Cape Jervis.
Early morning pick up from your Adelaide hotel for a scenic coach trip to Cape Jervis to connect with the ferry for the 45 minute crossing to Kangaroo Island. On arrival onto Kangaroo Island enjoy the scenic drive to the Seal Bay Conservation Park. Here you can walk on the beach among a colony of rare and wild Australian Sea Lions with a National Parks Ranger.Head to Vivonne Bay for a two-course lunch, followed by a spectacular free-flight display of Australian Birds of Prey. After a two course lunch we head on down to Flinders Chase National Park for the rest of the afternoon. Flinders Chase is internationally renowned as a sanctuary for a host of native Australian animals – kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, echidnas, goannas and more. Walk along the rugged southern coastline (on specially constructed walkways to protect both you and the environment!) to Remarkable Rocks and Admiral’s Arch. Remarkable Rocks provides a spectacular backdrop for all you creative photographers so bring plenty of film. Admiral’s Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to confront a spectacular rock arch and a nursery haven for fur seals. Watch the fur seals diving, playing or just lolling about on the sundrenched rocks, warming up again after swimming in the surf.
Return to Penneshaw for the return journey to Adelaide

Phillip Island is home to an astounding array of wildlife, including Australia’s largest fur seal colony, the little penguins and cuddly koalas. Enjoy getting close to koalas and kangaroos before joining the little penguins at dusk, as they emerge from the surf and waddle to their burrows.
Leave Melbourne early afternoon and visit Moonlit Sanctuary Wildlife Conservation Park. See animals in their natural habitat. Hand feed kangaroos and wallabies and learn about the conservation work of this important sanctuary. This Eco-certified sanctuary showcases the famous and endangered faces of Australian wildlife, including southern bettong, eastern quolls and rare fluffy gliders. Get close to these beautiful animals with the opportunity to hand feed them, watch and be captivated like never before!
From here travel to Phillip Island and stop in at the famous Chocolate Factory (tour included). Visit the Nobbies and Seal Rocks, stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the spectacular views along Phillip Island’s rugged south coast. Next stop is Summerland Beach, home to Victoria’s largest colony of little penguins for the nightly Penguin Parade. Watch as hundreds of little penguins make their way across the beach and return to their sand dune burrows.

The Melbourne City Circle Tram travels a rectangular route along Flinders, Spring, LaTrobe and Spencer Streets right around the Melbourne city centre.
Not only is travel completely free on the City Circle Tram but you get a running commentary on the places of interest along its route. You can get off the tram at any of its stops, so you can visit particular attractions at close hand, and catch the next one.
Trams run in both directions every 12 minutes, seven days a week between 10am and 6pm (except Christmas Day and Good Friday), and during daylight-saving extended hours, 10am to 9pm every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
